i e-mailed bob on his website about an amp question and got a very quick response. he highly recommended the markbass ta 503 which was to expensive for me,got the lm iii instead.im going to dig out blizzard of oz,bark at the moon and some old rainbow albums and rediscover bob all over again! think my favorite album featuring bob is still diary of a madman(believer and tonight are great)hell the whole album is great! Thanks Bob!.....and lee.:)

Yeah keep it going! Bob is worthy of the attention: the rerecorded bass and drum tracks on Blizzard & Diary are nothing more than note for note apes, the Daisley Mojo all gone. Oh well- everyone here knows the truth: Daisley is a great guy and player :)

Huge fan of Daisley. One of my bands is a metal tribute band, so Crazy Train, Bark at the Moon, Mr. Crowley and Flying High Again are all on the list. They are some of my fav bass lines to play.

If you don't have Blizzard or Diary, just look on ebay. You can find old versions on there for sale. That is what I did, well worth the extra effort.

Love that Bark at the Moon video and that Gary Moore video!

Hmph.

I was on YouTube earlier, and found "Crazy Train" and "Believer". "Crazy Train" I could tell was uploaded from the original, but with "Believer", I could tell from the first few notes that it was the remaster. Exact same bass line, but you could just tell it wasn't Bob Daisley playing it. It didn't have the same tone, and it sounded sorta dead.

Bob also played on Yngwie's 1988 "Odyssey" album. I can't remember if he played on the entire album, but he smokes! Yngwie likes to play bass on all of his albums now, but as technical as he is, he's not Bob Daisley. (No offense Yngwie! Hey-you can hire me if you want a bass player....)

Bob is the kind of guy that reminds me how important the bass is on an album. You don't have to be flashy, technical, or the frontman of the band to make your mark. You just need to play tight, with feeling, use the right notes, and have great tone.

Simply genius!

I just wanted to say that I had the rare honor to get to know Bob, who was one of my heroes and a huge influence when I was a kid growing up. In addition to being a huge talent, he's one of the coolest people I've ever known.

It's such a tragedy what Sharon Osbourne did to Bob and Lee, who were so important to the playing, writing and production of those first two Ozzy albums. The chemistry between those four musicians (Randy, Ozzy, Bob and Lee) was a once in a lifetime thing that resulted in two of the greatest albums ever released.

Bob is certainly worthy of our respect. Listen to his bass line on the song "Tonight". Sheer genius. He was also the main writer of Ozzy's lyrics, as well as co-producer on those records.

Hi to all, New here, saw this link on Bob's site & joined w/o hesitation..Bob's the bomb...

I believe reading in an interview Bob recorded most of the 1st (2) Ozzy albums w/ a Gibson EB3....

I recommend Living Loud, his project w/Don Airey, Steve Morse, Lee Kerslake & Jimmy Barnes which besides some great originals recorded several Ozzy era tunes.

The DVD is tremendous & exhibits what Bob is so great at,
Locking in with a drummer, playing punchy, melodic & driving bass lines which enhance any song that he's playing.

I love Bob Daisley. I was a big fan when he was in Rainbow and Ozzy. Great solid player and songwriter. Just look at the list of songs he's written or co-written, it's impressive. It breaks my heart the way Ozzy's camp screwed him over. I've been a huge Ozzy/Sabbath fan for years but that was a bitter pill to swallow. From all I've read/heard about him he seems like a really decent guy and he didn't deserve the treatment he got from the Osbournes.

Plus he supposedly wrote a lot of the lyrics for the early Ozzy LPs.....it's a crime that shrew Sharon Osbourne removed him & Lee Kerslake from the recordings because she's too cheap to pay them.

Bob wrote 99% of the lyrics on the first 6 or 7 Ozzy albums. He and randy wrote the music on the first two. Bob's the Man!
