Bob Daisley Appreciation Society

You should email me every pic you have from them:D I'd love to see those pics.

I love daisleys work on the first 3 ozzy albums, hes pure genius. Along with making these great melodic basslines, he helped randy write some of the most classic tunes ever. He used a P to record most of his stuff no?

The pics were all taken from my Canon AE1, which obviously was 35 mill.
I suppose I could get the negs scanned and digitized, but I am pretty sure that the quality would be less than stellar.

Back when Blizzard and Diary came out I would tell people that Bob was the real star of the records. Yes, records.
I of course got a lot of strange looks, since Randy's playing was new, fresh, and quite brilliant. But try to picture those songs with different bass lines.
Bob Rocks!!!!

He wrote the best song on the Widowmaker album with Ariel Bender.
Gary, I love that Widowmaker album !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dam is it available on cd ?? All my vinyl is packed away :( Yeah man Bob is IT ! LOVE his Rainbow, Ozzy and Widowmaker stuff. The white EB3 and Marshall rig I thought sounded KILLER. How cool is that ??? Bob responded to this thread :)

Shame he has to go through this lawsuit with sharon osbourne but the guy deserves to be recognised as he was the original player on the first ozzy albums, lets not forget lee kerslake, that was a brilliant pairing, daisley/kerslake.
Plus sharon osbournes a witch and a control freak.

I always loved the opening drums on "Over the Mountain", mean as hell.

*I was lucky enough to see Randy Rhoads twice. I had tickets to a third time but....
My friends and I left the third show because it was just too depressing without RR up there.

godofthunder59,

Yes, the Widowmaker album is available on cd called "Straight Faced Fighters". It's a double cd. The first disc is the original album. The second disc is a live disc. It contains songs from the first and second (unreleased, I believe) albums performed live. It is great and Daisley rocks, as does the rest of the band. I highly recommend this for fans of Daisley or Ariel Bender.

This is so cool: "Bob has kindly agreed to sign copies of his autobiography, at no extra charge, for everyone who registers their interest in buying the book via his website."

How cool!!! I just registered.

I just got the new 30th Anniversary Edition boxed set of Blizzard/Diary. So glad to hear remastered versions of the original recordings. I was however bummed about Bob saying no royalties would be forthcoming (in the new Bass Player magazine). Wouldn't he and Kerslake at least get performance royalties frim this?

If not, that's beyond totally lame and just makes me want to *borrow* them from the interwebz even more (the reissues). What a bish Sharon be. At least his playing is back on them.
