As for the incident from literally YEARS ago, that you're trying to use to discredit me:

I like overdrive, lots of it! (the dude in my avatar is a clue)
Overdrive does not record well, especially when you're not using good equipment to record (i.e. laptop mic., cellphone).

It didn't help that some took shots at what I was playing & even my timing.
It also didn't help that I was suffering from a vitamin D deficiency, which has since been cleared up.


I also mentioned earlier in this thread that if I can hear a difference then that difference is HUGE!
There's no doubt that the SR300E I recently picked up is special. The neck is extra stiff & it just sounds better than others of the same model.

Just this past Thursday I took it with me to the local Ibanez dealer & A/B'd it with another of the same model, just to confirm what I already know. Yep, mine just sounds better!
I also owned one of the same model over the Summer & its neck was flimsy in comparison & the timbre of it was lacking, which is why I no longer have it.

Someone might ask why I bought that one over the Summer, well it was cheap in a pawn shop & I figured new strings would bring new life into it.
Turns out those D'Addario nickel-wound strings Ibanez puts on them are pretty darn good! I had a similar experience with G&L, those D'Addario's don't lie, even when they're old.

For those who are actually reading the thread & didn't just come here for the sole purpose of attacking me, sorry for repeating myself.

I don't care what anybody says, I got your back @Killed_by_Death! Anyone who puts recordings on TalkBass regardless of the quality, timing or skill of playing, should be respected for taking the time to share what they have to offer from their instruments, gear, and experience because we all can learn things from other people's setup's! Last time I checked, 99% of us on TalkBass are not highly skilled professional bass players at the top of our craft, so everybody ought to take a pill and just try to enjoy the experience.....

I've learned my lesson recording & posting. At first it was with videos.
I posted a video of me playing my first tube amp years ago & then a couple of years later I was asking on the same group about a guitar I had in mind for purchase.

Some dude who goes by Kangaroo Jack rubbed that old video in my face, saying I needed to learn how to play before buying another guitar.
That said a lot more about that guy than it did about my playing.

Later I figured just audio would be fine, and I wanted to show off how similar my G&L ASAT sounded to my Rickenbacker 4004.
Well, I didn't really know how to set the G&L at the time, or it would have sounded more similar than it actually did. Also, if my G&L had a "single" position on the *switch would have helped.

It wasn't bad at first, people simply asking for me to play a groove instead of the scale, which is what I was playing, up & down the scale of C Major.
Later I played some riffs & was jabbed for not having good timing. That wasn't even the point of the clips!

I don't play "grooves", unless maybe "Limb from Limb" by Motörhead counts. If I had it to do over, that's the riff I'd have picked!
In summary, YES, I will never record anything to post again, EVER! Thank you Peanut Gallery!

If I had the means and ability to record right now and post my bass playing on this forum, I would do so and not give a flying poopie what anybody thought of the quality of my playing. They can all go stuff it as far as I'm concerned. Who do I look like, shaging Victor shaging Wooten?

TBH I didn't have the means, I recorded on a phone & laptop mic., & the audio was horrible. A little bit of overdrive sounded like a bus crashing.
Having a few beers while doing it didn't help either, which I'm guilty of right now. Just got back from the local sports bar, watching a cover band.
