Great question and I will try to give you a little answer but it may be best that Brad or someone who owns the cab to chime in. The cab has a tilted back sort of design that allows them to be heard quite well....

This Cabinet also features a tilt back front baffle which allows sound to travel at a slight upward angle, perfect for the times when you have to stand close to or right over the cabinet.

I'm 6'2" and I sit on my Tank 1012 which is about 18" tall. I keep my amps on a guitar stand sitting vertically. The front baffle is tilted back and the tweeter is mounted towards the bottom to fire upwards vs. just straight forward.

Got to try a 1215 last night with a GB Streamliner. Quite impressive. Definitely rattled the stage. Sounded slightly muffled with the amp set flat. Great portability.

edit: i see they have a horn level on the back. Not sure where it was set on the one I tried. May have been off

Dave!!!!

The horn was at about 9 o'clock or just below it - so it was almost off. I meant to bring it up a little but just totally forgot about once we got going. On GB, I ran everything at 12 o'clock, except the gain (turned on) at about 9 o'clock. Oh, and it's a 1015. Here's a pic from that night.

There are some things that seem to get favor here and others that generate a lot of negative reactions, most often without any direct experience. Because of the unconventional elements of these cabinets we got reactions as strong as declaring it was impossible for them to do what people claimed they heard. The first big thread was shut down with some of the weirdest stuff I've seen on TB, where an actual user's words got twisted beyond recognition and people refused to acknowledge that they did it. And he had an early ported single driver cab. That has made more than one member reticent about even mentioning the cabs here except in passing. Why bother? For some reason there are folks who feel the need to shout down anything different that doesn't fall in line with their beliefs. In this case experimentation lead to some genuinely eye-opening discoveries on our part.

So it was the usual uphill battle and fortunately they've been accepted around the country by gigging bassists in the relatively short time they've been around. We even got a thumbs up from an upright player who I've looked up to for decades. Maybe they'll get more attention here, maybe not. We weren't relying on it based on past history. So our growth is largely word of mouth via Facebook and through local musicians who let others check them out. Once you hear them they don't require as much talk.

Thanks for relating what you heard. And as Driver800 said, if it was muffled it was likely because the tweeter was turned down. These cabs can definitely go into overkill with the highs if so desired. Bu the goal was great overall sound in as small a package as possible without compromising on volume or tone. A one cabinet solution for people who want to work smarter not harder.

Gotta say, after listening to the videos (and yes, I agree that videos generally don't do a product justice), I'm just not feeling the tone. The videos definitely focused on the slap and it sounded like the bass players like the scoop their mids. So, I really can't tell what these cabs are about.... except being small and powerful.

This is fingerstyle. It has a lot of depth to it and the camera may not be picking everything up equally. The tone he's getting is likely what he was going for. There is no single tone for this cab and they definitely aren't scooped unless you dial them in and play them that way. If they were I wouldn't use them, I really don't like scooped mids. The mids can be very forward, even or dialed back. They're flexible.
