I for one would be interested in your impressions of this combo vs the Whappo Jr/Tri210. Would you mind hooking up a DB 750 for this one? You have one of those right?? :D

I can do the Jr./Tri 115L with the DB750, but I no longer have the Tri 210L. For whatever reason, adding it to the Jr. seemed like a subtractive thing, rather than the expected additive thing. It actually sounded louder and more punchy without the Tri 210L. Now, at NAMM, I did try the Jr. with both the Tri 210L and the Tri 115L, and my previous experience with the 210 was repeated, but when I added the Tri 115L, I got a bigger, punchier, more articulate tone. Really, it was smiles all the way around! :D

I'll try it again, though, when I have the chance.

Somewhat OT:
I was wondering (you know how I am) about how the TE 1153 would sound with the IP112 (maybe too much low end?)..., maybe with a Demeter HBP-1 front end.
Sound interesting?

I'd love to someday pick up a pair of the TE 1153 (maybe three?).

While I'm OT: how does that Genz Benz GBE1200 compare to the Carvin B1500?

I tried two of the 1503's with the 600H, and boy howdy, was it great! :hyper:

First off, I am super impressed with the B1500 for its price, and even without price as a factor, it is a strong performer. The GBE 1200 is the more flexible of the two, by far, and you can cop a wide variety of tones out ot it. Both heads are solidly in the 'stupid loud' category. I'd say that prior to EQ-ing, the B1500 is a bit more full and dark, and the GBE 1200 is more clear and articulate.

Great work, Tom. You have no idea what an impact these shootouts have on people's buying decisions.

...and I can vouch for the 1153; great, punchy little cab that I picked up used for $200 :eek:. And on top of the Dr Bass 2x15......game over.

I have not tried this yet, as my IP112 is currently on loan to a friend. That just might be a nice pairing, though! :)
