You average level should be around the red arrow. Your peaks can be further up. Just so long as there's plenty of headroom.

I’m going into my amp effects return. I tried it in the input of the amp as well, similar results.

When setting the input level, where should I be aiming on the meter? I go the initialized route and start from scratch.

As far as patch building and parameter settings, i work off a one or two channel template. This template can be used for live or recording. The effects order is based on discussions I've seen and taken part in on the effects forum. So it's basically my interpretation of how i want my effects to be organised. The blocks that are part of the template are organised to the left, and all the unused blocks are organised to the right. The patch with the template has been initialised, so all the parameters in the blocks are in their default settings. The final patch could be as simple as a couple of effects, or as complicated as multiple amps and effects, multiple channels, send/return blocks, or any other assigns and MIDI commands. The GT has plenty of power to handle it. And finally. To my mind, the more organised, clean, and efficient and patch is, the better sounding it's gonna be. That's been my experience with the GT. But you could say that for any pedalboard or MFX unit.

I got the Core a couple days ago. This thing is intimidating compared to my old Zoom! Anybody willing to share their patches for live use?

I seem to be overdriving the stock bass patches for some reason, even though I set the input level so it is below the triangle. Anybody experience that?

The first two assigns have the same value for min and max..nothing would happen. Sorry still not understanding, don't give up haha .

Edit: or is it you want to change an assign globally? This cannot be done. 'Control functions' can be set per patch or global/system, but assigns can not.

That looks great, always been intrigued by the SLO.
It’s really good. I like that I can adjust the role of the tube to get it fatter or cleaner. I would love to have a parametric eq on the mids, but I add those through a separate eq on the core if I want. I usually have my preamp switchable between the core and one of the parametric eqs. SLO for fat p bass and clean eq for the MTD.

Are you looking for a trick to globally disengage the amp-blocks in all your presets?

Not an answer to your question but related: the Boss 'stompbox' feature (where a fx block becomes a global-block) is great, but the on/off status of such a global fx-block is STILL determined by the preset.

In practice if you had a 'stompbox' chorus in every preset you could 'disengage' that chorus-block by setting the effect level to zero. With an amp block there would be no such trick.

That’s exactly the information I was looking for. I’ll have to turn on Loop1 and turn off the preamp for each patch
I still can’t seem to get the assign matrix to “save”, it just reverts to the defaults

Yeah you can achieve this with stompboxes.

Create a divider with your amp in A and leave B clear. Save the divider as a Stompbox and assign that to all your patches where you want a globally toggled amp.

No need for assigns as the div channel can be set to a foot switch normally.

If you wanted to control other features globally which can’t be set to footswitches directly like A/B balance to have a clean blend with your amp for example assigns could be used.
