Happy New Year.

Maybe it's been discussed already but what's wrong with T Wah Bass? It sounds like it's broken. T wah is better but still bad. T Wah in my Boss Waza Air Bass system is far above.
Not sure about that pedal, but I find that it doesn’t matter what effect you use because you can bring in clean blend and can up the bass frequency.

the wahs and filters in the GT1000 are not the best indeed. They can sure be improved and hopefully will with an update (although I doubt we will ever see one). But they are not totally unusable.

You have to go into each patch and select bass mode, it’s in the manual

Thanks! It's a somewhat steep learning curve, but I'll keep at it. I tried to use the patched by Correlli above but they don't work so well with my amp (overload!). I create some very basic patches last night for rehearsal and they sounded "alright" but a bit boomy, especially when using the flanger. I also had some excessive noise when increasing amp gain or using bass distortion. I guess it's mostly trial and error learning cycle.

Any thoughts on the noise (hum/buzz). Signal chain is just my Olinto P/J into the Core, with an envelope in the loop, into my Two Notes Revolt Bass preamp (bypassed - it was just in case mode) to my TH500. I was using the instrument input, not the effects loop.

There’s a few gain stages in your signal chain that can/will cause buzz and noise. Try the GTCore plugged into the Effects Return on you TT500. That will mean you’re connecting straight into the power amp bypassing the preamp. Turn the Master volume down first then bring it up when connected. Set the AIRD OUTPUT SELECT in the SPEAKER SIMULATOR block, to BASS AMP WITH TWEETER or BASS AMP NO TWEETER

Those patches are really designed for a FRFR cab, a recording interface, or even 4 cable method so you can route the TT500 preamp through the GTCore. You wouldn’t need half that stuff connecting straight into an amp. There’s other considerations like the INPUT level setting in the GTCore, which is pretty important. Is your Olinto Bass passive or active? You could try turning the INPUT level down a couple of db to be on the safe side. It is a learning curve, don’t hesitate to ask some more questions.

Excellent point. I didnt check the input level, its a passive bass.
Always good to check input levels as it has a pretty profound impact on how well the GT works IMO.

I’ve got profiles set for all my basses, too high and it breaks up and sounds more synthetic, too low and it sounds kind of flat. Makes the difference between sounding good vs passable to me.

I saw some chatter on here about the older multi’s being better for bass, I found a GT10B on GC that will be delivered today, it gives me two weeks to decide if I want to return my GT1000 to Amazon. It’s was less expensive too, it was $220

I broke out my oc2 (Japanese octaver version) and compared it to the bass octave in the core. I gotta say, the cores version sounds great. Has that huge dub bass feel when you pull direct out. Not to say I’ll bail on my oc2 but I don’t have a reason to put it on my board.

I’ve done the same comparison, and I quite agree! I think the Core’s non-bass Octave sounds even closer to my 2 OC-2s (both MIJ, one is Octave, the other Octaver) than the bass version. The Core behaves quite like the originals, it sounds maybe just a tiny bit less dirty and hairy, slightly less chaotic.

The difference is so small you’d need to listen for it with good quality headphones or studio monitors. In a band context it is nonexistent.
