Do you mean the phone editor doesn't change the parameter on the device like the PC editor does? That doesn't sound right. Are you sure you're connected to the device, as at least the PC editor offers an offline mode when no compatible device is found.
Correct, in PC mode the changes happen live. On the phone I thought it would be the same but I'm having connection issues and it seems as if when I change a setting on the phone then it would try to connect to the GX.

The offline mode seems to be the default on the phone.

Ah, that's a shame. Could be a battery-saving scheme to only use the wireless connection when needed. Bluetooth isn't a massive battery hog these days, though, so that wouldn't make sense, so maybe some other issue?

Does it allow preset blocks to be changed via BT. Just to make sure I'm using the correct term, say I set up PS1 to be 'Rock' (whatever combination of settings) to PS6 'Funk' to allow swaps to a whole different setting arrangement between songs? Or would I need to use a tablet wired to do this? Not much of an FX user.

@Snert yes, in that aspect it's amazing. So from the factory that 1-4 bottom left are to kick in presets. And the bank up and down are the different groups of four presets. So say you have a song with two or three patches you could set the intro to 1, verse to 2, chorus to 3, and 4 could be solo or something. Then you would simply step on the corresponding number for whatever section of the song you're in.

The way I'm using it is to ignore the patches and banks all together and created a pedalboard inside of one bank. So I assigned each button to include Ctrl, bank up, and bank down to an effect that I can activate based on what button I press. A fly rig if you will. Today I'll add a wah to the chain and I'll have a solid little pedalboard for jamming. Of course it can get infinitely deeper but in my mind I just spent about 500 bucks for the ability to create a chain with up to 15 units.

^^ Thanks. Looks like it might be in my future then.

No problem. Keep an eye on his channel he's still doing gt1000 and now gx100 how tos

Consider waiting til after namm and see if they come out with a core with a touch screen or full size gx1000. The expression pedal and larger footprint is my least favorite part.
I bought this knowing I might eat a few hundred bucks within the next few months if a new flagship drops with these new features.

Ok so I got the BT working. I can adjust parameters on the fly within a patch and they happen on the unit. Turn things on off etc.

Switching from patch to patch however has a good 15-20 second lag. The app screen goes black and a little icon rotates then the next patch comes up

Really nice positive and helpfull topic ! Because of this topic i decided to become a forum-member ! I have read the tread from the start, but i do not think i have seen mentioned the 'stompbox-feature'. It's easily missed if you do not RTFM but it can be a really practical feature so i will bring it to the attention to those who might have missed it.

The 'stompbox'-feature is the last option in the menu of each effect-block. When you make an effect-block into a 'stompbox-preset' this block will be changed GLOBALLY were it is set as this preset. For example, if you have 3 presets where you want the distortion-block to have the same settings in all of those 3 presets you can set this block to be 'stompbox-preset-1' in those 3 presets. Now, if you change settings on the distortion in preset-1 these changes are made to this distortion-block in the other two presets also ! Nice ! This can be a really handy feature on-stage where you don't have the time to go into all your presets to adapt to unforseen sound problems.

Using Stompbox; Editing The Stompbox; Reading Stompbox Settings Into A Patch; Writing Patch Settings Into A Stompbox - Boss GT-1000 Parameter Manual [Page 4]

Now, i only use ONE preset on my Core but i still have a use for this feature. On my preset i use the blocks FX1 FX2 and FX3. When you look at the main effect-page-screen you cannot SEE what these blocks DO. So i set FX1-block as my second compressor and set it as 'stompbox-preset-2'. Now this FX1-block is SHOWN on-screen as "CMP2". IMO this makes the screen much more 'readable'...

I hope someone finds use in this small tip :=)

Very helpful tip, thank you

Also this stompbox-feature can be used as a kind of 'auto-save-function'.
This is a STAGE-TIP, not a studio-tip and only works if you use just a few patches/sounds.

- On patch 1, make all your effects-blocks into a stompbox-preset-1.
- On patch 2, make all your effects-blocks into a stompbox-preset-2.
- On patch 3, etc.

Now, if you switch between these patches/sounds and make quick tweaks while comparing you do NOT have to PRESS WRITE 3 TIMES everytime you want to keep your change.

I did not test this really extensivelly and there can be pleanty why this could not work in a specific application i gues.

( On my Zoom MS-6b i can just choose 'auto-save' in the main menu...)

Stomp box is great when you find a particular set of parameters you like for a given block.

With only having 3 switches on the core you can easily set up multiple patches with slightly different pedal options but keep everything else in sync via stomp box.
Highly recommend adding the mourningstar MC3 or MC6 to give you extra stomps.

The GX100 for me has the perfect t amount of stomps for what I wanted and let me leave the tuner untouched. If I want an extra effect later l will repurpose that button and run my polytune I. Front of the GX no biggie I actually prefer an always on tuner. As an eternal student I use it to make sure I'm hitting the right notes.

Anyone know if it's possible to set one of the knobs to control input preset? it'd be super hand to be able to swap instrument without having to go into the menu (unless I'm missing something obvious)
If you go 4CM you could instantly switch between A/B were e.g. you would have bass A in input but bass B in return. You would still have to adjust input signal though.

Hmmm just a mild annoyance so not the end of the world but I have a really hot active and a passive pretty low output bass I'm switching between to make sure I'm getting the best tone possible out of the AIRD preamps.

I'm pretty sure the input instrument level is globally set so not sure that a patch would help. Just thought it'd be nice to be able to use a knob to switch between my instrument levels rather than MENU > IN/OUT > INPUT each time etc. It'd be a real pain at a gig.
