There are two controller inputs, CTRL 2/3 and CTRL 4/5 (CTRL 1 is the switch on Core itself). Each can have connected two footswitches (with a TRS cable) or an expression pedal. So 4 footswitches or 2 expression pedals or 1 expression pedal + 2 footswitches.

Edit: I did not understand the first part of your post..
Sorry for the first part of my post, I was trying to say something about using the return as an aux in but I forgot to delete it.

Yeah make sense about the footswitches. I was thinking to connect more than one boss fs7 in one input....but of course wont' be possible. One fs7 and one expression pedals or 2 fs7 or 2 expression pedals i guess.

Or an FS6. I have one for sale with the adapter so you can power it with a power supply if anyone is interested.

Thanks mate, I was thinking more along the lines of 2 fs7 and an exp pedal. But I don't think that's possible

I haven’t read the whole thread. I did get thru about half of it last night, and didn’t see this addressed. Can you run two pitch blocks at the same time? Say I want one to drop the tuning down a half step, and then one to run as an octaver. Will it let me do that?

Is there any downside to using the core as an audio interface for just guitar/bass. Was just trying to weigh up selling my little focusrite scarlet as it doesn’t really make sense keeping it about. I’m not recording any vocals or anything.

I’ve been recording via the GTCore’s USB interface, but I’ve come across some latency issues with the pitch shifting effect, (?maybe other effects). I didn’t have this when recording through my Focusrite Clarett 2pre. But what I do love is the GTCore’s reamping feature. So what going to do is setup an aggregate device in Logic Pro so I can use the GTCore and the Focusrite interface at the same time. Recording through the Focusrite just sounds better to my ears. I think the AD/DA converter is probably better.

Interesting, I was kind of thinking along the same lines. The Clarett pre is much nicer than the Scarlet but I think that I'll give it a shot before getting rid to see if I can tell the difference. The v1 Scarlet 2i2 isn't really worth much so if there is a quality improvement (even if subtle) it'd be enough to hold on to it. I'll have to try and get some side by side recordings.

If you’re just recording demos then the GTCore would be good enough IMO. My recording situation has changed and I’m planning to start an indie record label. I’ve been training myself as a composer/producer. My plan is to replace the Clarett 2pre with something much better. So I’ll setup an aggregate device and record the dry signal through the new interface also tracking effected tones from the GTCore. Depending on what sort interface I get, I what to record a tube DI, and mic and record my bass amp also. So the end result I’ll have a track for the tube DI, amp, and the reamped GTCore. I should be able to reamp the tube DI and amp as well. Might seem a bit over kill but I want bass tones that cover a wider possibility at a reasonably high quality. My primary instrument is bass so why not.

That makes sense. Yeah for me I think the GTCore is more than sufficient although I'll give it a compare and see if there's any benefit for me. The only thing that really stands out to me is that I do sometimes get a little buzzing when I have the GTCore connected via USB, if I get a cleaner signal using the Scarlet then thats a pretty big advantage, especially when I'm using drives.
