So I made a new proggy/fusion track aptly titled "Who's the Boss?" with all sounds from guitar and bass coming from the Boss GT1000 Core (besides small post processing things in my DAW). I am fairly happy with the sounds. Was going for a Gilmourish guitar solo in the middle and a fuzzy bass sound in the end. Used my six string and four string basses.

Normally I only use my Axe fx II for recording so this is my first track with the Boss. It was my goal to do everything with the Boss to learn the new toy. Most likely I am going to use both Axe fx and Boss for the next tracks. It's not completely done or mixed but it's getting there. Hope you like it! Let me know if you will...

that’s ace!!! Nice work

I have just about decided I don’t care much for the Amp sims in the CORE. I like the Cab sims, but I’m finding with my IE’s, it sounds better with the Amp off. With my live rig I’m using 4cm, so the amp is the Katana, and I can put it anywhere in the chain I want and I have the Cab sims off. Might be doing something wrong?

Do you mean you want cab sims but when you disable amp sims they stop working? If so you can pop an amp sim in one side of a parallel divider and set the blend option to be the other path. That way you can get cab sim without amp sim.

I use a combination of my 4cm head and the amp sims which I find a big improvement over just the built in ones.

I’ll try that, thanks!

Hello everyone!!!
new boss gt1000core day for me!!
I'm trying to reduce size and weight from a full boss pedalboard to a small boss pedalboard!!
I was at the store and I was ordering the new Two Notes Revolt , when i saw the gt 1000 core at almost half price because was used for a day and returned, and of course it came with me with a new bass as well (as that day was my birthday)
It is just a couple of days that I'm trying to figure out the basics of the gt 1000 core and is a bit overwhelming as I'm always been for the last 2 decades just a "one pedal one sound guy'.
Of course thanks to this forum and online video tutorial, I'm starting to understand a bit more and start to enjoy it.
In the next few days I'll order a couple of boss FS7 one for patch up and down (as i like to use the gt1000 core in manual mode) and another one to assign a couple of extra fx or one fx and tuner. And i guess an expression pedal would be nice too.
Now my first question is.....is it possible to use one of the return jack to plug my phone as an aux in and be clean from the fx? I tried but of course if i need for example a phaser, it will effect the music that I'm listening.
And how do you record? straight to an interface or maybe using an extra preamp with D.I. out?
thanks so much!!!!!

For recording I personally just plug it in via usb to my laptops and use it as the interface. It means you don’t need to faff about with connecting wires and you can record stereo main, sub and dry signals simultaneously which is super handy. I usually record a dry signal for reamping later, the main out and sometimes sub out without any reverbs etc applied.

Put the Send/Return block at the end of the chain right before the Main-Out block to listen to the aux in sound uneffected. However the Main-Out EQ settings will still effect the Return sound.

Of course one S/R block gives only the right or left channel of you iPhone, you need both Returns for stereo...

I am really curious if the Core X-drive is the same as the Boss BB-1X (asking for a friend..)!

And congrats! (We might need to see more of that bass btw.:))

Thanks so much!!! Yeah I’ll try to compare the core x drive with the bb1x one of this days!

Congrats and I hope the GTCore serves you well. If the BB 1X offers something different to the 3 AIRD preamps, it would be a good addition to the GTCore. The TU 2 as well, being an always on tuner. I use a P Bass Pro version 1 as my primary bass. P Bass and the GTCore go well together.

Thank you!!
Yes I’ll keep the bb1x and the tuner, if the octave on the core tracks well I’ll sell the oc5 the ds1 and odb3 (even though they are modified from modest Mike) and of course the aw3.
I’ll keep all the modulation pedals.

cannot said much about the precision bass but so far I really like it. I should have bought it long ago but always been hesitant.
