aren't those (O/D, chorus, delays..., don't know about the wah) already inside the GT-10B?

yeah all of that is in there, plus tons more...I just can't get a good distorted tone out of it...I'm trying to emulate Peter Steele's distorted tone...he uses a DS-1, which is a boss pedal, but I can't find something close to that in the gt-10b...it's funny I got the gt-10b so I could try to duplicate a tone that uses three boss stomp boxes
Yeah and they're all pretty sick, even the ODs can sound pretty good with some knob twisting, but it's a lot of fun using other pedals too.
There is a wah, and an auto wah as well
If you're one of the relatively few people who like to use a whammy pedal, then you're unlikely to be happy with the one in the GT10B.
if you're looking for compressor, reverb, chorus and delay in one box, I don't think you will be disappointed...I will only offer that I'm still pretty overwhelmed...mine is a little much for me, I think
Two questions/opinions needed: Using an ancient Boss pedalboard which still sounds ok, but I'm starting to lose my effects setting, lots of spaceship and laser sounds to my surprise at times, so very close to upgrade. I've resigned myself to a multi effects board, it just works for me and i think I'd spend mu''ch over a grand for pedals, when you need a couple chorus', a couple overdrives, a subtle flange, a trem flange, the occasional delay....they work, SO which will get me more the GT 10B or the ME 50B (not sure when both were introduced, so if slightly better technology has made a difference.
2nd, with the size of these, especially the 10B, does anyone use them on a pedalboard augmented with a couple actual pedals (I'm thinking a tier set up ideally) and what do YOU use that will fit pedals above the unit or on top, basically a pedalboard that will work for both (or I'm I stuck going custom?

The GT-10B is by far more superior to the ME-50.
The GT-10B is fully programmable and can use up to 15 effects at one time, and the effects chain order is fully configurable, and has parallel effects paths.
The ME-50 is pretty much a WYSIWYG knob based unit, fixed chain order and limited/simple effects.
I never had any need for other effects when I had the GT-10B, it has everything you need inside you could ever want, including built in stereo D.I's
If I had another one, I would maybe use a Tech21 Vt Bass pedal in it's S/R loop.

I did do some experimenting with other drive effects and Digitech BSW in the loop when I had my first GT-10B, now the only thing I like to augment it with sometimes is a Korg G5. It can do synth sounds, and with some tweaking could probably do whatever you wanted it to synth-wise, but I like what I'm getting out of the Korg so unless I really am short on stage real estate, it comes with.
Those Stagemaster cases will fit, you just have to remove *one* layer of foam off the bottom. It's pretty easy to miss that. I sure did

Besides the GT10B I'm using and Empress Compressor and a Darkglass b7k Preamp (overdrive) I fitted everything in a flightcase that is originally made for a lights mixing desk (if I remember correctly)
The lowest frequency the parametric eq's HPF on the GT-10B will go to is 55hz. As I understand it the Thumpinator is around 30hz. FWIW I don't quite understand the point of it.....yes, *some* amps might not have an HPF built in, but if you're setting the filter below the lowest frequency your instrument will even produce, just what are you protecting it from??
Thanks for the reply. Well originally I wanted to get an fdeck for upright, because I've heard it can clean up the sound and stop feedback, but it doesn't ship outside north America. Then I heard or the thumpinator. Then I thought, I already own a gt10b, might as well ask.
Aha...Ok well, I've used the GT-10B for that very purpose...TBH it does the job fairly well - the eq can almost get into notch territory and you have the HPF capabilities.... whenever I don't bring out my PZ-Pre for those gigs I typically wind up missing the phase/polarity switch. And since the eq on the GT-10B isn't all that precise, you can still get stuck having to cut on one side or the other of the actual problem frequency sometimes. It works though...
I am greatly enjoying my GT-10B However, whilst experimenting with it today I became aware that I am getting the aforementioned hiss from the XLR outputs. Curiously when using the 1/4" jack output it is silent.
Someone here suggested that cleaning the XLR contacts would cure the issue. I've not tried that but, it doesn't seem like a dodgy contact to me. (I've tried both XLR outputs with the same result and it seems odd that they would simultaneously develop bad contacts.)
The unit is 2nd hand so I'm not sure if its been exposed to 48V from phantom power or not. Since I've had it I have rigorously avoided 48V. Can anyone please help to clear up a few questions:
1/ Does plugging it into 48V cause the hiss issue?
2/ Can I get rid of the hiss?
3/ Is the only way to repair this to replace the main board (i.e. its not worth repairing)?
