holy crap, I'm so lost...I can't seem to manipulate anything properly on the unit itself...maybe because I got it used and the guy I got it from customized the settings? I haven't tried manipulating it in floorboard yet...I haven't figured that out either...yes, I'm trying to understand the manual...overwhelming!

The first thing that you need to do is go inside of settings - input/output and turn the Rev level to 0%. It's a global reverb and can really muddy things up where It's set from the factory.

Now when you add reverb in any patch there will be none, the global reverb only adjusts the density of the reverb effect if it is enabled in any patch.
Default is 100% for when you have reverb enabled in a patch and turn the reverb level up to 100% it will give you 100%, with the global setting at 0, then patch reverb at 100% will give you 0%

I don't find that to be correct with mine. I have mine set at 0% in the global menu and I have a few patches with the reverb effect turned on. In my experience the global does not effect the patch reverb, it effects the reverb added to the overall system and creates a room type reverb effect to all patches whether you have the reverb turned on in the patch or not.

So I went back and checked and it appears that I had mine set at 25%. I apologize for the misleading info. Gumtown is correct as to what the Rev level does in the global menu.

i'm finding some youtube videos that i am hoping will help out on making patches and whatnot...it looks like maybe using manual mode or making an effects chain might be the best way to go about doing what i want to do with it...i'm kind of wanting to use (chorus + delay + reverb) + (distortion + eq) and then compressing the whole thing...i would like to keep the chorus + delay + reverb on all the time and being able to remove the distortion and eq from the chain by hitting one of the foot switches...i'm not sure if that is even something that i would be able to get to work or not, but as soon as i get home from work i'm going to try...

That is where the power of the "Assigns" come into play.
As well as the Pedal Function, you also have 8 assigns, which are programmable controllers, at your command.
These will allow you to 'assign' multiple parameter functions to the same CTL (or EXP) pedal, so you can switch multiple effects on/off in one action, or increase/decrease effect levels/mix gradually with the EXP pedal.

i will have to look into it and see how i can get the assigns to work...i'm leaving work early today to try to figure this thing out a little lol it seems so powerful that i at least have to give it a fair shot...so, with the floorboard software, i just plug it into my computer and i get a better visual representation of what i'm actually doing?

Yes, there is a GT-10B system midi setting that requires the GT-10B be set to "advanced driver mode" to enable midi over USB, and the GT-10B USB driver software from Roland/Boss needs to be installed.
The editor will graphically display all the GT-10B settings.

i downloaded the driver from the boss site and the floorboard, as well...i looked at it and tried to mess around with it...it seems pretty complex right now...i haven't hooked up the gt-10b to my laptop yet, though

still having some connection issues with my computer...unit isn't being detected and I'm having to keep retrying the driver...technology sucks when it refuses to work your way

this is beginning to get ugly...driver problems...didn't go on right, won't completely come off, can't reinstall...it sucks having this thing two days and I can't even write a patch yet for it

Why don't you try resetting the unit to factory settings and start over? After you set the usb mode to advanced it should be plug and play

I will look in the manual and see if I can figure out how to do that...when I plug it in, the computer says that I need to disconnect it and install the driver...it's set to advanced on the usb thing

I did the reset, but no dice on the driver...are there any known issues with windows 7 64 bit?

I am running W7 64 bit and had no issues. Did you get the latest driver from the boss website?

it's the only one on there...I'm assuming it's the latest...it worked for a little bit and then it stopped...then it said to uninstall it...I did the steps to do that, then I tried to install it again and it just keeps telling me to uninstall again...I dunno...

no worries...I know jack and squat about computers...the only other sites I go to other than here are YouTube, eBay, Amazon and a couple of others :/

Make sure the GT-10B is NOT PLUGGED IN to the USB port until the driver install asks for it to be plugged in,
or else the driver install will perpetually fail.
I assume you read carefully all the instructions with the download page and the readme file with the driver?

yeah, I read the instructions...I was able to restore my computer from a few days ago and I have the driver working...I have to download the floorboard again, though...I was messing around with the settings and was able to set up in manual mode a distortion, reverb, delay and chorus pedal...it was really nasty sounding, as in good, but only close to what I'm looking for...it seems like a ton of volume is being lost though...
