Boss GT-10B (part 2)

Right - I'm the only one still struggling it seems LOL
So I have a patch "FRETLESS TONE" that usues FX1 for the 'defretter' (always on) and FX2 for 'Octave' (for when I'm attemping to channel Pino's 80's vibe) which I activate through CTL1.
is it at all possible, that I can assign CTL2 to change the parameter of FX2 to engage a 'slow gear' effect?
I want to be able to - in certain long, slow passages, to have my first notes swell in without having to use the volume pedal.

This should do it, te CTL2 is set to momentary, so the Slow Gear effect only happens while CTL2 is held on

[On/Off] = On
[Target] = FX2: Type
[Min] = OCTAVE
[Max] = SLOW GEAR
[Source] = CTRL 2 PDL
[Source Mode ] = Moment
[Act Rng Lo] = 0
[Act Rng Hi] = 127
Releasing CTL2 will switch FX2 back to Octave.

One more, for the win... is there way - without CTL3/3 - to assign the SLOW GEAR to kick in even if the octave isn't on?
IOW - CTL will kick in SLOW gear whether or not OCTAVE is engaged or not?
Here is question... I use the MONO output to the amp, but can I connect a tuner via the other output at the same time?

If you put the gt into tuner mode, and havd the gt tuner set to mute, your extra outboard tuner will not get any signal from the output.
Crap - I didn't even think of that - oh well, I guess it'll have to go in-line then... sigh.

What's your goal for using another tuner with the GT-10B?
I've found the tuner inside the GB-10B to be perfect. It used to be the only tuner I trusted for intonating my basses when the GT-10B was always on the floor next to my practice combo amp. I didn't use it anymore just because I have moved to another house where I haven't had the chance to set up the same personal practice space where I could just leave my things on the floor.
In all honesty, it's because I have a TU-2 and I like the larger, more accurate display - accurate as in I can see exactly where I am on it. The GT's tuner is champion, I just am sooooooooo used to the TU-2. I wish I could get a little more out of the on-board. Is there any way to change the display or is that it?

Other than used them in-line, if I were in your shoes, I could connect external tuner pedal either to the output B of my Audio-Technica System 10 Stompbox wireless receiver or the tuner out of my Ampeg PF500 amp.
The tuner display is just what it is.

that reminds me of my Catalinbread SFT.
I used to run it before the GT-10B to fatten things up - just a hair of distortion and compression when hitting the strings hard.
Until I discovered that i could have the same sound using the "Natural" overdrive in the GT-10B.
At least similar enough for me... and I enjoy having to mess with less boxes and cables.
Right now, I'm having good results using the internal guitar amps in a parallel chain.
Even coming close to the sound of the Tech21 dUg pedal when using the "Freq Divide" channel configuration with a guitar amp in the hi channel and compression in the low channel.
I do like the ODs and fuzzes, but I find none of them give me that "dirt" I want for little bite - so I had a Bass Tube Screamer built to give me that.... I a GASsing for a DG Microtubes Vintage - watched the Steve Lawson pedalboard rundown on YewChewb - check it out from 02:17.
But to the point... I like the GT, but if I can find things that serve me better, I'm not adverse to including them in there. I ditched a complex board to fund the GT and now with the left over $$s I'm looking at where it lacks. It does sadly.... and more because of (I think) where I lack technically (just ask Gumtown some of the dumb things I've asked) and also how I want to build my sounds...

Yep, it's me again - the dreaded MultiFX dummy (or at least that's how I feel sometimes).
Hopefully this is a simple thing, but I've been getting into Janek Gwizdala's playing a lot again recently, and I'd like to start using a delay again as a standard part of my chain. I used to use the TC Electronic Flashback mini with Gwiz's TonePrint, but that was literally plug and play.... I've never used a regular delay so I really have no idea how the settings work.
I want something that is super subtle - nearly a reverb in how it behaves. Check out this link for Gwiz making his TonePrint - you'll get a fair idea of the kind of "subtle" I am on about.

Does anyone know, if I buy a lightning to usb b cable, can I connect my iPhone 6s to the GT-10b in advanced mode, will I be able to play along to the music stored on my phone?
I ask this because my laptop stopped working and I haven’t replaced it yet and I’m not sure if I would need the software or a app for it to work.
Speaking of apps,,,, @gumtown, your app would be awesome to have on the phone. It sure would beat dragging the laptop out every time.

to my knowledge the USB port is only for hooking up to the software on windows computer..not sure if there is a Mac version of that, but not for hooking up to a phone.
Boss stuff is not USB "class compliant" so requires a specific USB driver software, so there is no IOS (Apple) driver support, which means out of luck.
With the correct USB drivers, you get midi and audio streaming, both in and out.
In the past I have used a windows laptop, running audio to midi software and soft synths to convert the GT-10B audio to midi, play with a midi soft synth, then channel that audio back out the GT-10B main outputs.

iPad and iPhone are the same, so if the GT-10/10B USB is set to "Standard driver mode" then it seems it may be class compliant, and not require a USB driver for the IOS device.
