One of the things I didn't like was having too use the ctl pedals to switch patches within the banks. ....
The only time you need to do this (as I'm sure you've figured out) is if you're in manual mode. If you have a switch dedicated to manual mode, it's easy to get in and out, and just use the number switches to change patches.
... I think they could of left the tuner access like the GT6B. It was a pain to reach down , untill you figure out you can use the EXP sw Kinda stinks though that you have to set bypass to OFF unless you want everybody hearing you tune up.
You can do what gumtown suggested, and set the numpedal function to tuner. You can also dedicate just about any other switch to a tuner on. If you have the tuner to "bypass" instead of mute, you can still use the foot pedal to turn down the volume to muted.
Actually, come to think of it, at one point I had the pedal set to turn on the tuner when I got to it's lowest range - that trick is actually in the manual somewhere, but you're basically setting it's active range to 0-1. You can still trigger the tuner (set to bypass) from one of the other switches, so you can do both mute and bypass with the tuner.
Hey guys, could any of you guys finish selling me on this pedal, because sincerely I think its just the fact that I haven't gotten to play around with thats keeping me away. I already looked around and I love the array of effects it has but I have a couple of questions.
Individually do the most (cuz I know I can't say all) of the effects sounds like their stompbox counterparts or better?
Is there any added noise from the pedal when its on clean?
How good is it for live/recording environments?
Thanks ^^
It's a very good sounding bypass system. IMO, it's pretty indistinguishable from going straight in to your amp when it's off (bypassed). I tend to always have mine running, as I'm using it's compressor right now.
To me, what makes it a hands down winner is the two channel switching/blending/dynamic switch and
crossover capabilities. I've just gotten on this kick right now of playing with the various dirt sounds effecting only the highs.
Having said that, they were smart enough to include a dry blend, and also a low frequency level with each overdrive model. No more losing low end on a dirt patch.
