No it won't sound exactly like the GT-10B, the GT-1B modelling is 10 years more advanced, and the GT-1B does not support dual/parallel paths like the GT-10B.
But most other stuff is similar, in most aspects it can replace the GT-10B, but not so much pedal control like the GT-10B with the 2 x CTL pedals (+ 2 external) and direct patch change access.

Can anyone explain why in some of the pre programmed patches the red light on the right hand foot switch flashes? Hitting the button doesn’t seem to make any difference as the sound stays the same but the light keeps flashing.

Usually indicates the Tempo (BPM), and could be assigned to "Tap tempo",
where if you tap the switch in time to the beat of a song, your effects like delay repeats will be in time with the beat of the song.

At first I had the same idea, because I wanted to hear in the stage the same sound as in the FOH. But, those FRFR are very expensive and not the ideal thing for bass, maybe a better option could be a barefaced, fearless, or something like that. However, all of this are expensive, and most of the time you won't be able to increase the volume in order to reduce noise at stage.
For these reason I tried In-ear monitoring, it has some disadvantages but its cheaper and very portable. and know I'm happy with it.

I'm building a 2x10 powered cab with some pa woofers and a 100w digital power stage.
When the project's done, I'll post some feedback about it... I've read that
the headrush is well suited for bass or guitar use anyway..

Keep in mind if you use sub woofer drivers, there will be no mids, and no tops.
A full range system would be better suited to a modeler, maybe consider adding a passive crossover and a Horn/Driver with a variable attenuator PAD.

I built a compact combo with 4 x 6.5" kevlar cone drivers, and a 1" horn driver into a 12" horn flare, driven with a 500 watt class D amp, a SMPS, and a tube preamp stage based on the fender design, which can be bypassed, and a tube D.I. output.

I'm too late to make any changes! Lol.
The speakers are just ordinary 10' PA woofers..

Well finally this morning I've tried the headrush frfr cab. It's sounds huge. At loud volume makes rumble everything lol.
Haven't tried with a drummer yet but I know it's great. It really sounds amazing, even better than a bass cab. In fact, my amp sims patches on my gt1b sounds really great through it. Worth a try.

Just been messing with settings for slap bass on the Boss GT-1B (using passive Jazz bass with both pickups and tone up full).

Might be useful as a place to start if you want a slap tone...

Limiter (FX1)...

Type: multi
Threshold: 60
Level: 17
Ratio: 4:1
Attack: 20
Release: 80


Parametric EQ (OD/DS)...

Type: para.eq
Low gain: 0
High gain: 0
Level: +2
Lm frequency: 315Hz
Lm Q: 2
Lm gain: -6dB
Hm frequency: 2.5KHz
Hm Q: 0.5
Hm gain: +6dB


Graphic EQ (FX2)...

Frequency : dB
40:+3
100:+2
250:+8
500:-20
1K:-12
2.5K:+4
8K:0
Level: +4


Notice that the parametric equaliser is available in the OD/DS effects as well as FX1 and FX2 effects so you can use it as a third FX effect.

I have the Limiter and Parametric EQ on most of the time and just activate the Graphic EQ for the slap tone shaping.

The Graphic EQ is not the usual smiley face shape. The bass I used has a active East J-Retro preamp with a passive switch. I got a good slap tone from the East in active mode with no EQ on the Boss. The East has a mid sweep. I then emulated the sound, with the East in passive mode, using the Boss. The settings in my last post pretty much nail the East active tone.

You need the Limiter to compress any large spikes when popping.

I just got a gt-1b in a trade. I wasn’t really planning on getting one but it kind of fell in my lap so I really haven’t done much research. Looking forward to messing with it. I have a number of stomboxes but this is my first multi. I was curious if anyone uses this board with an upright bass. Any tips, advise, or clips would be great. Thanks.

And I've definitely been using it for months now and never had one issue. It's a cool bit of software.
