Boss GX-10

Hi all,

I just want to add my experience regarding the DI/XLR topic on these devices.

I do agree that all bass multi-FX processors should have an XLR out, but we all know that rule doesn’t really apply to companies, haha.

I’ve also never been able to get used to those plug-to-XLR adapters.

And like someone else mentioned above, these little units are meant to be modular, so I can’t complain about my setup:

I just got the GX-10.
Does anyone else have the experience that many effects sounds the same? (I don’t do the overdrive section at all)
To me the t-wah, the fretless and the chorus all sounds like a phaser effect rather than what I’m used to from other effects.
I’ve checked the in- and output settings and I don’t have any hidden effects activated.

So, I still have this unit and decided to keep it in spite of my initial doubts. It seems to be of good quality and I learned some tricks to get more out of it.
But I also realized it will only give the standard basic effects but with the option of adding a compressor and Eq always on wherever I want i in the soundchain.
So now I'm wondering if there's been any significant updates and new sounds? My unit is v 1.04.
