BOSS ME 90B

Apologies, I’m not sure I understand the question!

I took delivery of a ME90B on Saturday. I’m still experimenting and learning about it, trying at the moment to find a similar compressor setting / sound to my EBS Multi comp pedal.

There are 2 modes of operating the switches: Memory (Presets) mode, and Manual (stomp box) mode. The global settings covers the behavior of spillover delay/reverb when changing Memory locations, but I'm wondering what the behavior of the Delay/Reverb (button 4) spillover trails would be in Manual mode. In Manual mode, if you have long delay/reverb tails when the switch is engaged, will it cut off those tails when you switch to bypass the delay/reverb effect?

Yeah, in manual mode the tails continue. I had quite the time trying to figure out how to stop them when demonstrating to my wife over the weekend

When you toggle on/off the Delay/Reverb switch in Manual mode while playing, not when you switch on OTHER effects.

Ah, gotcha! Yeah, the effect continues if you turn off the delay / reverb section in manual mode.

It’s metal. Really well built, I am chuffed to bits with it, and there is still a lot for me to learn and experiment with.
Mostly enjoying the manual mode at the moment, but I will definitely start storing some settings soon for future use.

Just ordered one online from a Canadian company. It says 1 to 2 weeks for processing. Sweetwater was out of stock but more on the way as of last night. Haven't looked today.

It’s metal. Really well built, I am chuffed to bits with it, and there is still a lot for me to learn and experiment with.

Thanks, GK. These aren't for everyone, but my 50B solves a lot of problems for me: No mix and match pedals, connecting cords, differing voltage and polarity power supplies, no pedal board.

One cable between one box and the amp (or two if you send/return), one power supply, and a programmable order on the patches without a separate router.

These appear to be coming back in stock. For those that have had it a little while, what is your first impression?

Also, silly question... In preset mode can you set one switch to trigger two effects? Meaning turn on an octave and a drive for example? Or would you have to swap between presets? (Or are there scenes/snapshots like in Line 6 products?)

I love my pedals, but I also love the idea of plugging one thing in and just getting going, particularly at home, very appealing, being time poor these days.

I have one of these but I haven't had that much time to spend with it lately. I did hook up my Boss WazaCraft wireless headphones because I can not blast my 800 watt amp where I'm living now.

Got it last night. Irritated that there's no AUX to be able to learn songs for practice, and my experiment with a 3.5-USB-C cable did not work as an audio input. I don't have an amp at home, so the aux/phones are pretty much mandatory for me. $60 for an added BT receiver, I suppose, but still...

The sounds generally seem like an upgrade from my trusty old ME-50B. There were some occasions when an effect did not seem to turn on/off with a footswitch (like hitting some distortion on the fly), like with the instant 50B, but that might be my not reading the manual. In one case I couldn't get the octaver to stop - I may have been in the Memory Mode, but it's hard to tell. An effect would sometimes need a knob twist to kick on, it seemed?

I do like the one-switch tuner and the distortions are definitely improved, to my ears. There are some oddball effect additions which I cannot imagine anyone would use, like Slicer or Ring Mod. All the usual BOSS goodies like Chorus and Delays are quality.

So far, it's not a home-run replacement for my very giggable, durable 50B, but we shall see.

To be fair, you had plenty of opportunity to look the manual up online and pictures of the back inputs before buying to know that it didn’t have an aux in…..

Testing it side by side vs the 50B this evening, and while it’s typical BOSS quality, I’m not yet convinced it’s $400 worth of better, for me.

Get a Mixer, then maybe two birds one stone.

I use an adaptor from my phone to feed into a mixer when rehearsing new songs. So are you saying I won't be bale to use the USB port like that or is this just some sort of an iPad issue? Won't be a deal breaker for me either way as I have other instruments feeding into my mixer.

From re-reading your post I guess it is a one way feed to a computer to get to parameter editing screen.
