Ideally, you'd want to be able to select whether the delay/reverb is bypassed at the INPUT to the effect or at the OUTPUT. If the bypass state is on INPUT signal, then shutting it off allows whatever was input last to stay effected with tails. If the bypass state is at output, once the switch is disengaged, it's a hard shut-off with no tails.

It's unclear with the delay on the expression pedal how this functions. Typically, using delay on an exp pedal is for "swells", where the exp pedal controls signal to the input, and sometimes in parallel to the signal chain so that the dry sound persists throughout. IOW, how is the level of the non-delayed dry signal assigned in the toe-up/toe-down positions and is it adjustable?

This is a common problem specifically with reverb/delay with most multi-fx pedals on the lower end of things. Reverb and delay on bass has become more and more popular over the last 10+ years (TOOL is a favorite of mine), so this can be a problem when switching sounds in stompbox mode.

Multi-effects are getting cheaper and cheaper with increasing amounts of effects/models. Personally I would prefer less fx choices but more control/preference options.

For instance, someone here wanted an always ON tuner on the ME-90B but it cannot be done (nor can it with most mfx).

Or, my GT-Core, where you CANNOT set the three foot-switches to select patch 1, 2 or 3....(ok, one day I will stop complaining about that issue :D).

I agree, these things have a big impact on use-ability.

Well, thankfully for the ME-90B, I'd guess that the vast majority of bassists using it aren't too hung up on spillover delay/reverb settings. :thumbsup: Most of the time it doesn't matter for me, either...but...it's nice knowing you can tweak it if you have to because.... you never know. :unsure:

I have the GT1000Core. Yes the presets are way too much processed. BUT, take the "NaturalPreamp" as a starting point and you'll get great sounding results. That pre is great for drive sounds well. I haven't used any overdrive, distortion, fuzz, .... "pedal" in the Core. The Natural Preamp does the drives I want.

I can't even imagine why anyone would use any presets. One of my biggest complaints about the Core is that you can't erase presents, only overwrite them. The first thing I would have done upon opening the box is delete all presets.

Ok increments of 10ms is a bit of a bummer.

with the delay type TEMPO you can only tap tempo. Not set it to precise BPM if I understand correctly. Say you want to set it to a fixed tempo of BPM123, that’s not possible on the ME90B I guess?

I think for this to be possible the display would need three digits instead of two.

Edited: well of course it could be done with something like the tuner-arrow acting as a "1" indicator or something like that.

It could be, but I would guess it is mainly appearance. To me the 50B looks more 'classy', I like the 'old' knobs with the metal face-plate that gives it an old school vibe.

(On my GT-Core I replaced the metal-looking but plastic knobs with knobs (similar to the ME-50B) from my 'closet GT-8' :)).

Yes, exactly, I loved that more classic look with those knobs.. I hope the quality of the effects is superior.. we'll see..

I’ve got mine. Initial impressions:

It’s lighter than I expected. I have a GT-10B which is a Sherman Tank and this seems a bit slighter. That’s not really a big criticism. I couldn’t imagine cramming the GT-10B into a gig bag. This one, it’s easy. Now, could I drive over it? I wouldn’t.

It runs off an old One Spot I had lying around, noise free. That’s nice.

In terms of the effects you can really get lost in this thing. I’ll be honest it will take a while to properly assess it, but so far I’m enjoying the compressors and various overdrive pedals. The amps will take some time to get to know. One observation is that the bass knob is very subtle. It doesn’t really add or shed the decibels in ways I’m used to.

More thoughts as I continue to explore.
