It is a Gotoh 205-B5. Apparently used on the later year models. When I first saw it ibanez the sale pics I was thinking it was like the thin Fender or Yamaha bridges, but no it does have so thickness and girth it. The bass sounds oh so sweet !

conggratz Bossa brother! It's one of those underrated amazing gears out there, a boutique Japanese bass! Been using mine in many records and live replacing my TRB 5P
Does anyone know if the pole pieces on Bossa humbuckers can be adjusted? The G string is a little weak on the bridge pickup.
Ask Danny Stewart at Bass Japan Direct (FB or YouTube) He’s in Tokyo and an expert on Bossa.

Nate is amazing. I'll have to check that other cat out. I remember being at Bass Player live in Los Angeles (at S.I.R. Studio rentals) and seeing Nate play his Bossa.

My OBJ5. Probably the best sounding 5 string I’ve owned. If I have one gripe it’s the width of the fretboard because I have small hands. Sounds absolutely massive.
I tend to go narrower nut width and string spacing on my 5 strings - like the Warwick Jazzman for instance.
That being said, this one isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It records beautifully to boot.
That's how I feel about my Dingwall. It's a beast to handle, yet that B string is pretty killer. It's worth the struggle, ha ha! I much prefer the ergonomics of the Bossa and my Cirrus 5 bolt-on is pretty dang nice as well.
Good taste! I've had a Cirrus as well, still no Dingwall but I've almost ordered the SP1 a few times....
Is your Bossa a 4 string?
My Bossa is a 5'er! An OB-5. No idea of the year as it doesn't seem to have a serial. I bought it used in 2008. A page or two back I posted a video if you wanna have a listen to it.
Nice! I expect the string spacing/nut width and necks to be the same on the OB5, I don't think they had a narrower version. If they did I would track one down in a heartbeat!
Does anyone know the difference between the Ob-5 and obj-5? I think the OB might be 25 fret instead of 24 which means mine is an OB-5

Let's try to settle this. On my OB-5, at the bridge I'm measuring 72mm from middle of B to middle of G. We divide that by 4 and get 18mm spacing. Just for comparison's sake, on my Peavey Cirrus (bolt-on) 5, it is 17.5mm. Care to measure your OB-J5? It sure looks wider, but that could just be the photograph.
