Break-up lines

i am 5' 6" tall (or short, as it were) and was dating a woman who (in bare feet) was eye-to-eye with me ... after a few dates, said she had a big collection of high-heel pumps that she could not wear when she was with me because she felt self-conscious being taller than me (never bothered me, tho).

shortly thereafter, i was actually picked up by a hostess at a restaurant nearby. she was at least 2" taller than me in flat shoes, and we met for a couple of drinks, and i told her about this other girl with the pumps, and did it bother her that she was taller than me? she leans in for a little intimacy, and says, "it doesn't matter when you're laying down."

so ... we had a fast, furious crazy whirlwind two weeks, and then she told me that her boyfriend was coming home from the marine corps ... DOH! ... which i actually found out later to be true ... they were to be married, but if he only knew! hey don't flame me, i thought she was unattached! i was just a time-killer ... but, man ... what a time!

ahhh ... my younger days. filled with all kinds of crazy mayhem like this ...

I've only had that happen once. The problem with this particular girl was that she didn't completely avoid me - so I had to make all the effort to contact her but she wasn't completely ignoring me. So, I just thought she was playing hard to get. Didn't I look like a tool when she'd basically told everyone at school that we were over and I was running around after her like we were still together. Which brings me to another point - I hate it when people outside of the relationship know its over before you do! That $h!t ain't right. :spit:

I am talking in general, worse if in a dating relationship, but in general that is one thing that I HATE, I don't care who it is or why

*not knowing for sure if they are or not is annoying as 7734(sorry about that). I know it is definately not all ignoring me, but email should work just fine, but no emails, so.......we'll see

I got you all beat.

To break up with me, a girl once quoted Mark Hoppus, MARK HOPPUS of all people. Something to the effect of:

"So sorry, its over"

but hell if I remember, that was 2 years ago, and I'm obviously not a blink fan.
How's this for rejection - I asked a girl out on a date a couple of weeks back. She and I had been interested in each other for ages so I thought she'd be really keen. After asking her, she went all giddy and smsed me regularly to see if we were still on. She told everyone at work how much she liked me and talked it up like it was something out of Hollywood.

So, we organise just for something fairly casual because of we were already friends. I pick her up from Uni and ask if she wants to go into the city for fireworks that were on in the evening. She says its too wet and cold. I ask if she wants to go out for dinner. She says that she's not hungry. I ask her if she wants to go out for a movie. She says that she's nothing she wants to see. She ends up coming over my place and then says that she "needs to be home by 8.30 to watch OC"...it was 7pm at the time. I drop her home (at 8.10 - it was a 40 minute drive from my place) and drive off straight away.

I get an sms from her the next day asking me if we were going to see each other again. I told her no and she wasn't very impressed. So, I sent her one of the most horrible messages I've ever sent to anyone. She deserved it, though. :spit: She hasn't spoken to me since, thankfully. :D

Yeah, you know, women are just like that...

Even worse is that when they are laughing behind your back and you dont know why... and then she tells you :spit:

That was my Worst. Day. Ever. (I think..)

I was on both ends, only once each though!

Recieving: comepletly truthful, honest, and open about everything. We talked it out (well, not right away, after she told me I hung up the phone...) and now we're the best of friends.
Giving: again, as truthful as can be. We talked about it, and remained friends up until recently when we've seemed to lost contact.

Sooo IME, be truthful, 100%, and be willing to talk and stay friends (cos hey, something made you date that person, so why not be friends if the relationship side doesn't work? That always confused me...). You may end up hurting someone, even yourself, but I think in the long run, it'd be for the best..

Why don't we just distill this down to the essence of reality.

When someone initiates a breakup, it's either #1 or #2:

1) "You don't have enough sex with me."

- or -

2) "There is someone I'd rather have sex with than you."

Maybe my 'relationship realilty' was bent at an early age.

I think you've read into the Ladder Theory a bit to much.

And for those not quiet informed about the Ladder Theory, go
here. WARNING THOUGH: IT HAS STRONG LANGUAGE AND ADULT SITUATIONS THAT SOME SHOULD NOT GET INTO. Just thought I'd cover my @$$ with that. If it's still bad to post, mod, please just delete it and I apologize...

Or maybe others don't buy into it enough.

Look, from a biologic standpoint, relationships are a little wonk. Our prime directive, our one genetic imperitive is to procreate, to pass our genes onto another/more. That said, being married for 30 years doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Love is a construct we've given ourselves, something to make up for, apologize for sex. "Sex is just part of a relationship" is what you here. Maybe. Or maybe a relationship is just part of sex.

You have to believe in love like you have to believe in religion.

Oh, and yes, I'm bitter, my mother didn't love me, I had my heart broken, and am 3 kinds of frustrated. Just so you feel okay about things.

I know what you mean, and I feel the exact same you do.

From the guitarist (female) of my former band:

"I don't want relationship to interfere with the band..."

10 days later she starts dating our drummer. Never start relationships within a band. It only leads to trouble. EDIT: I forgot to mention that she started it out by sitting me down and saying "We need to talk."
