Did I read right, the B25 neck is "chunkier" than the SB5000 neck? One would think it would be the other way around.

I would say the neck on my B25 is the opposite of chunky.
I wouldn't call the B25 neck chunky. But it felt like it had more depth and girth than the SB5000 I played. Is the B25 a 35" scale? If so, that might be why it felt so long to me

Now that's how I figured they'd be! However, I guess the SB5000/B50 necks are on the thin side compared to most 5-ers. Maybe anything next to the SB5000s would feel "chuckier" even if they're not really "chucky."
I was at the Hollywood store today to pick up my B25 from it's trip to San Diego. Lookie what I saw, fresh off the truck...
It's stunning in person.

That looks amazing! What's the difference between the five knob preamp versus the 4 knob version I played at the Carvin Showroom in San Diego?
Wow!!! Very nice, man.
Unreal...now with a birdseye fingerboard.
Exactly! Still wouldn't kick her outta bed though.![]()
What I'd like to see is another spalted one like that first one we saw here that got destroyed in shipping!
Oh, so you gotta bring that up again?
Ahhh, yeah, if that had been mine, I'd still be sick about it. It was magnificent!
