Hey Brian, I've always wanted a Peavey B Quad in the natural maple finish, one of my dream basses that I will have to add the collection one day.

I absolutely love your cover of September by Earth, Wind and Fire - in fact I'm going to listen to it right now. Thanks for the music!

I bought the album for Come Together. I've never heard another rendition of that tune quite like it.

the sheer eloquence of tone that is captured on that track when played on a good audio system is amazing. I think I listened to just that track about 5 times in a row when I first got it - then I started delving into the rest of the album.

Now I shall have to go & check out Thicker Than Water.

Thanks Brian for inspiring us in this craft!

It was quite a shock, too! I had just received it from Amazon and was getting ready to insert in in my SUV to groove on it. And the odd thing is I wasn't that aggressive for it to snap like it did. Bummer!

Thank you Dr. Cheese for this thread. While I've never met Brian Bromberg, I did play on a David Collini record that was released in 1987 that had Brian Bromberg playing on a couple of songs. His tone was great and his playing was stellar, and David told me back then how fine a player he thought Brian was. David was right, and thank you Brian for so many years of great music!

Wow talk about going way back! That David Collini CD was the first record date I did in LA after moving there in 1986. I moved there in 86 because of the guitarist Phil Upchurch. I came out from Tucson to play on Phil's CD and he ended up giving me enough work to move to LA. the WAS that much music going on back then! I have no idea how Dave Collini found me, but I'm glad he did. I still have the CD! Small world Boss Bass!

Phil Upchurch was the first guitarist idol for me! I grew up on Motown and grooved with the Funk Brothers and the guitarists that played under that name and label, but I just fell in love with the guitar after hearing Donny Hathaway back in the day with Phil on guitar.

Hi Brian, small world indeed! I was working in post production audio at a small company located inside of Lion's Gate Films in west L.A. back then. An audio engineer that I sometimes worked with named Coy Owen who knew David Collini asked me if I would be interested in playing bass on David's new record. Coy knew the record's producer Dave Pell, and he also introduced me to David Collini. David set himself on a good career path with that record as he had yourself and bassist Welton Gite included on the recordings. I was honored to have played bass on it as well. David composed all of the music, and played piano and drums on most of the record, he is very talented. And Brian, to see the direction your career took was a great one indeed, and I will always be a fan of yours and remain inspired as a bassist!

I'm still trying to figure out for the life of me how Brian Bromberg was not on my radar until recently?
And it only happened because of my affection for Dean basses!

He played the Exotica Radiant 32" ABG as a Piccolo Bass with custom Piccolo bass strings made for him by Labella and he also played a really cool looking Dean Stylist.
I even saw Stan Getz in the mid/late 80's at the Valley Forge Music Fair and I'll be damned if I can recall if he played there that night.
There's just so much talent out there you're bound to miss somebody. I'm sorry I didn't 'discover' Mr. Bromberg until recently, but better late than never! I go to record shows every 2nd Sunday in Lancaster, PA so I'll be looking for some older vinyl that features BB when he was younger.
