Bronco upgraded with Dragonfire Duo Rails

I have a Bronco that I enjoy playing but wanted to upgrade the pickup. After much reading I decided to try Dragonfire.

Went with the Duo Rails [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Big difference in sound quality and volume. Very happy with the change.

However... the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. I got the chrome rails and the finish is rough in spots (not that I ever touch them ). The mounting holes came without threads. I used the screws to create their own threads since I don't have a proper sized tap. Not the best solution, but it worked. No instructions for wiring or splitting.

Overall, not bad for 20 bucks.

Much improved over the stock pickup.

Was that a 4 wire pickup? And if so how did you wire it to the Bronco?

Yes, but it came with two wires joined. Maybe wired in serial? Not sure. It did come with a wiring diagram for various configurations.

Ok. I ordered a similar one and haven't received it yet so I was wondering how to wire it.

Pretty simple. One of the mounting ears on mine came without threads but I just used the screw to 'cut' threads in the pasteboard. I was worried that I would damage it but it worked out fine.

3am, just completed this upgrade. Holy smokes, what a difference! While I was at it, I hit the inside with copper foil. This thing is ninja-silent now!

Hey, just wondering how you did get this wired. That SD diagram shows 5 wires and the Dragonfire shows only 4.

I'm looking to do this upgrade to a Musicmaster, same basic pot/pickup design as a Bronco.
