Broughton Audio Super Thread

Your supervisor of pedal inspection looks worried - you okay?

Yeah. I’m a professional bailer. Full geared up. Just bruised and sprained everything.
Got my 500 back yesterday after a weird grounding problem I couldn’t figure out. Very happy to have it back. Was riding it yesterday.

So how does that work. Do you have the SSDI in the FX loop, or is the FX loop just an in-line phase inverter?
The compressor is passes through the Filter FX Loop, then to the SSDI (or P15) the to the Mixing Board then to FOH. The Filter FX Loop Filters are engaged for the clean and effect signals in addition to the phase inverter being engaged.

Late summer is what I've heard, but with component sourcing the way it is these days it's up in the air. I don't know what you'd even compare it too, it's reacted differently to every bass I've played through it, I have both SSDI and P15, they both haven't seen power since the day the new one arrived. Not saying it's replaced them, Josh has nicely made this one different enough it's good to have them all, but I can't put the new one down. It's everything I've ever wanted from a tube preamp, and best of all originally new. Maybe one day I'll have the courage to mail it off to you if more don't come around, but don't hold me to that

whoa...what new tube pre-amp?

Lol, lpf out of stock! That's a first

Many things go in and out of stock all of the time. Josh no longer keeps his full inventory on the site. Basically something sells out and later in the day it is back in stock. I have been observing this phenomen for several weeks/months now..most notable w the pedals we don't talk about such as the LPF/HPFs.

As you mention, this happened w the Low Pass Filter just yesterday...already back in stock. I am thinking it is some sort of marketing psychology...someone is on the fence on something, checks and sees there is only one left in stock and that pushes the purchase over the edge. Item stays out of stock for a bit and then is replenished on the site.

Well, guess I’ll have to wait. Sounds like it is worth waiting for. In the meantime, Lightstone Emperor next and sounds like WRA Goliath after that. Roland is going to build me one in 3-5 days.

Yes! The LA-1A after the P-15 sounds awesome. Clip 7 here you can hear what the LA-1A does. Tube Preamp/DI Sound Samples — Noble, Oracle, P-15, Super Stack, REDDI, Tonecraft, Jule...

I must say, The la-1a is what I wanted the MarkBass compressor to be. I really did like the MarkBass though.

I just wish it had a indicator light or meter. Just for convenience sake. Other than that I love it.

Now the question is do I use two compressors? I still love my apex for transparent sparkle.
