Honestly the best circuits I've played incorporated both tubes and mosfet, I have a totally tube driven head and its nice and tubey, but that's when the lazy, squishy feeling comes into play, Ashdown Power stage helps, but in my experience unless you're cranking the power tubes you're not going to get that part of the equation, but you are right there, preamp/power amp together is really magical, ie SVT/400+/V6/AD200B

I typically play through an Ampeg SVT, V4b, or a non master fender bassman 100 so I know what you mean. I haven't needed much else

I like some of the solid state offerings available today, like bergs and quilters. I just don't see a "tube tone" being had without a full tube amp. The best thing about all this though is the subjectivity of sound. I love hearing other people's opinions of their favorite tones, all the t00b discussion as of late has been entertaining. The sunray - > archetype rack clips from the other day were nice but just not my idea of thrilling tube distortion

Yeah I need to re do that, well a couple parts I didn't like once I listened back at a common volume. Things are much different in headphones. I was just trying to put something up quick for a couple people I probably could have just emailed the wavs. I'm in no way trying to convert anyone but it was simply a bad representation of both drives.

I just went through 4 packs of 9 volts trying to figure what was wrong with my setup. At a medium higher gain I would transition to slapping and it sounded like my battery(s) was dieing in my bass. I switched out over and over, switched basses as well, only to come to the realization that the compression this thing puts on the drive circuit is insane, in a good way as long as you know thats what's going on. I didn't know that the other day and was countering it with boost from other pedals, I've once again found a new level with this thing

I know this goes both ways but to anyone that sees this, clips yay or nay?

so agreed. Studio one and super stack are kings. I haven’t tried the archetype (yet) but to me, Josh’s greatest achievement is the SSDI.

wow. Tall praise. I would agree that Locust Star should be in that discussion, but I lean towards the Bluebeard...but that’s apples oranges (or rats muffs)...these days I am also finding a REAL love for the Dunwich ODB.

ODB is an OCD circuit I believe...has Josh ever done an OCD? I’d LOVE to check that out. I’d also love to see a unpleasant surprise type of dirt from Josh. He’d make the most sputtery.

As far as I have heard...Lauren Audio is another that you should buy in stock if you have interest. I've been hearing a lot of buzz about the mustang. Pretty sure it has a distortion circuit in there as well?

EDIT: HPF just went out of stock

Well I placed my order for a HPF (footswwitch version) at 1:13 so maybe that made him go out of stock!
