Man the Omni is something else.. Used it on a few gigs this past weekend without really having a lot of time to learn it but that didn't matter, it sounded awesome. I had screenshots of a few of you guys' starting points but ended up using @cosmicevan "fat" setting and tweaked it a bit. Just sat so nicely on all these direct gigs, in varying sizes of venues. It has definitely got some sauce to it but its not overly colorful. Just super sweet and smooth, I might like it more than the CaliCB I've been using for years.

are you plugging directly into the BBA before tuner? I guess I’m confused how you have that set up…

I agree. I still need to run it at end of chain with the Empress at the front, but I foresee selling the Empress. It's got just the right something.

That's how I run it most of the time: bass > BBA > tuner.

I don't think it really matters much as to what's first -- the BBA or tuner.

HPLPF into Habit into Omnicomp into SSDI. I had the Habit set for a little warble and tape hiss.



Habit is a stochastic fun machine. The above is with entirely benign settings, much weirdness ahead.

A good starting point for punchy:

Blend fully wet.
Slow attack. (fully clockwise)
Fast release. (around 9:00 o'clock)
Ratio at about 9:00 o'clock.

Set threshold to taste.

Tonite's rehearsal pedalboard, going to fire up the Omnicomp (& Saturn / Mercury) at band mix level. RFE's back as well, looks like a neat option to make my dirt pedals sounding cuttier and edgier !

A punchy setting I quite enjoy: start with Gain at min and 100% wet, then set:

• Attack at 3:00 (slow attack)
  
• Release at 9:00 (fast release)
  
• Ratio at 3:00 (probably around 10:1)
  
• Thresh high enough to get the LED to light up often given how you play and your bass' output.

That should get you some tasty popping attack. But then dial back the Blend to make the pops less obvious, say around 1:00. Increase the makeup Gain a smidge if needed.

Yes. Passive P, to Broughton BBA to Peterson Strobostomp in BB mode on inner dipswitch, to Omni Comp, to Noble DI, to FOH. Sound Engineer, Band Leader thought it sounded better with the BBA than without it.
