Broughton Audio Super Thread

Any hope for a Messenger release this year? Also - and I'm just spitballing here - maybe another mug is in order? Maybe there should be a yearly edition?

I myself am intrigued by the Super Something... a Something is intriguing enough, but a Super Something? That's next level, man.
Maybe the one in the classifieds will come down to a reasonable price soon.

Charlie Foxtrot is the only pedal I got and dialed in a sound and never touched it. I have it set for glitching maddness...so kick it on, glitch out, kick it off. I love it so much. It's my favorite pedal to put after a drone type pedal to add in some spice. Right now it lives on my bleep bloop table top board.

I've been really intrigued by Malekko ever since trying the CF. What else of theirs is worth checking out in short order?
the only ones that interested me besides CF were the Downer and Diabolik

Sneak Attack was pretty interesting.

Others I haven’t tried personally but heard good things about:
Diabolik
Downer
Polyamorator

All added to my list. You've never steered me wrong and I've followed a bunch of your suggestions.

Ekko 616 delay is great on bass and killer on guitar.

If anybody needs a hard case for a Mains Archetype, SSDI, or P-15… or anything similar sized for that matter, just saw Harbor Freight has the Apache 3800 cases on sale, 30% off for $29.99.

Already a stoopid good deal before the discount!
Yep yep, have a couple tan ones and 5 bright orange ones left down here

sir, you're gonna need more 6AL5 than that..

I don't think that many who actively post. Maybe 3 ppl? Hooch, Shaggy, and Ed? I am sure I am missing one or two.
I unfortunately didn't "land" a sunray, from josh at least. One did ascend graciously from the void, aka Berkley CA though. I knew about Broughton during the drop, but wasn't on the thread yet, I think. I remember dismissing it as something way beyond my ability at the time so I quickly ran back to my tech 21 stash..

Between the two though, you can make the sunray run a nice light breakup and warmth, but it "shines" during OD imho. The quicksilver is the opposite, it's full drive is a little bubbly and buzzy, I stay clear of it, and leave it from ever-so-slightly full on warm clean, into mild breakup, that's its sweet spot. And because I live more in that area, I would tend to use the QS the most, it's like a SSDI with amazing breakup. The Sunray is "just" simply the best OD I've heard, but I'm very partial to tube things.

Does anyone make a tube driven Fuzz pedal? I seem to love fuzz, it doesn't annoy me like the sensitive guitar like OD out there, for the most part

SushiBox made a a tube Fuzz, the Sashimi Fuzz for a spell.
I haven’t tried one, and it’s in his Archives now, so possibly a little difficult to get.

Effectrode has Mercury Tube fuzz, seems like I’ve seen a couple other builders with them, but no first hand experience with any of them.

I wouldn’t really consider the sashimi fuzz a fuzz. It’s very mild and more od like. It was ok but nothing special.
That's what I heard. Sunray can get into the fuzz range though, not gate like but the breakup sounds similar. I'm not quite sure what separates the two OD/Fuzz, but I know I've like the fuzzies better

Sell ‘em without tubes even, if that was the main issue.

I enjoy a good hunt for a tube almost as much as for an awesome pedal. This could be like a 2 in 1! LOL

Yeah that’s the only way to do it. Tube scavenger hunt.
I thought the same, I've gotten a pile inbound from a very good maker of valve gear so I may have some backups now. Its a very unnerving thing testing them out as it's not the easiest tube to mount/unmount. Almost want to tell myself, "one of these will work, and I'll just find out which one if and when the OG one dies..."

Josh should make more sunrays

...and quick silvers...and ssdis, and a Broughtcoustic 360...and more calamities...and he should do preorders, and and and...

...where's my biznezz consultant shirt? I feel some burstiness, where's my dry erase markers and white board?!?
