Launched at NAMM. There are vids posted in this thread. Basses are in production, lead time is longer then standard Brute due to the neck joint. Will be at dealers in June. Based on your location, Corner Music in Nashville is your closest dealer and has ordered a few.

Joe Osborn, king of 60s pop, played a Jazz bass with only the neck pickup soloed. Everyone thought for years he was playing a P.

You can do the same with a Brubaker, and it is darn near the best P sound you'll hear. Try one before you say Too Bad...

Joe Osborn lives in Keithville, which is like 20 mins away from where I live. Love his tone on Age of Aquarius.

I might try/buy one when I graduate college. What's the nut width on a 4-string?

I'll have to measure one for you, as all I have in hand at the moment is 5ers. I will be at the shop on tuesday, so I'll do a measurement then. I know this, its jazz bass thin for sure, I think a touch thinner.

Thanks! I can't seem to find the specs anywhere. Though if true I'll have to pass. Wide necks are easier on my hand for some reason.

It's just wishful thinking. I have another 2 1/2 years left in college and I won't be buying any equipment till then. :atoz:

I'm curious about these bags. I'm looking for a spare one and am considering trying these 80 buck ones, but I can't find any pics or descriptions of the interior of the bags. Padding?
Does anyone have any info on this?

I took some pictures of mine for you! I discovered that the interior of gig bags are not easy to photograph, so sorry about the sometimes odd looking pictures.

I love these bags. Well made, well padded, glove-like fit, functional pockets, and easily the best looking gig bag ever! You can see in the pictures an internal flap to cover the face of the bass. You can also see about how thick the padding is compared to my finger (which I know is relative, but I have pretty big hands).

Kevin is shipping my modified custom pickguard TODAY! As far as I know, I'll have the only Brute with this pickup configuration. I expect many copycats to follow :)

I'm not revealing it yet. It's going to look so bad@$$, I want to do that with the pictures. Seriously though, it's not like it's anything earth shattering...but it's going to look awesome.

Latest gen Brutes have the white logo on the pickups. There is a wooden pickguard there for $69. A custom guard from Kevin was $250 last time I checked.

I just picked up a natural flame PG for my JJX5, $74.99 from the Ebay seller (honspree) and it will be shipped from Brubacker.
Emailed the seller about the natural MJX5 PG he had for auction and asked about getting the same color PG for a my
JJX5. He got right back to me with the answer I wanted to hear.:D
