Bud LeCompte vs Hurricane Ike

I am glad to hear that Bud and family are all doing well! That was some scary stuff, for sure. Heck, Ike hit Ohio pretty hard (Cincinnati really got nailed).

Once things calm down, I am eagerly awaiting these two lovely instruments from Bud!

What kind of top wood is that? Looks great.. Looks like Anigre wich is the same on my bass.. :smug:

Bud,
Glad to hear you made out OK with Ike, I took about the same kind of damage up on my end of town and got our power back fairly quickly. Looks like things are getting back to normal with the exception of the freaking traffic lights, Houston is bad enough even when the lights are working

The specs change every week for me.
I fI can keep the same spec for one month I will order :D

What I would order today is another TR-5 P/J black maple fingerboard.

It will probably be different next week :)

The TR is a great shape, this one belongs to a mate of mine down south;

Last time I made the mistake of going a bit too wild on the body shape (for my taste), and one too many strings. This time I'm going more retro-vintage :bassist:

I didn't mind the body shape on yours...and 5 strings was fine for me...

I didn't buy yours for two reasons:

1) I was lookin for a 2-pickup bass...JJ or J/MM
2) I jwas makin' a trip back to the states in May and couldn't afford it at the time (nor now, for that matter) ;)

The body was kind of love/hate for me. Some days I dug it, some days I didn't. The sound was bloody amazing though; Link Removed

LOL! I like that!

Bud, your new LeCompte T-shirts should read: "I beat Hurricane Ike!"

Or, "I survived Hurricane Ike, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt." :p

Tom.

More like "Ike kicked my hinnie and I don't ever want to go through that again." :rollno: Good thing I boned up on my Bear Grylls and Les Stroud skillz.

Here are some shots of my backyard right after the storm for your enjoyment. It's cleaned up now.
