Bugera Veyron Now Available

Loud...played a gig Saturday night in a club where we can get pretty loud (I always think we are too loud, maybe I am too old) Anyway our drummer sits right between both of the guitar players amp, and I am on his left on the othe side of the guitar amp. The amps are Xits 18 watt tube amps and can get pretty loud. I'm playing my Epiphone EB-3 with the neck humbucker soloed and the gain cranked up on the amp because this bass does not have a super high output like some of my others. After the first set the drummer tells me that I was drowing out both guitar players for him. I mad some adjustments and changed the angle of my amp and he said it was better. It's weird because I alwasys have been usiong powerful amps and I rarely get told I'm too loud :P

I have to make a joke after reading your post. It's gotta be them 500 watts Man! :D

Peeps can joke all they want about this head but I have the Mosfet version and it ain't no joke. Got it with an extended Warranty. My friends keep asking me if they can borrow it LOL!!!!!I can get a new one for 5 yrs if it blows up. I'm not concerned at all about it. And it makes pretty colors too. Question for other owners. What are you using as a case or bag for it? I have a Tecamp bag/case for my Puma 500 which goes inside a laptop bag for more protection and cover and concealment purposes. So what are you using?

Ok,, Bugera has already responded to my inquiry about an amp bag. Basically, I was told there are no plans currently, thought it was a good idea and it would be run up the chain. I'm commuting at the moment and will post the email when I get home.

So Brad, this head has bumped the Kustom out of the top spot?

Easily. And my Shuttle 9.0 so far. It's nipping at my rack setup.

They're all still as cool as they were yesterday for me. But this thing seems to have set a new bar for me. That doesn't happen very often. I'm not easily impressed. Most new gear underwhelms me. Days like today are just plain fun.

I'm hoping it's as solid of a performer as it seems.

That was back in April. Seems like an update wouldn't hurt.

The honeymoon period is long over and I still dig this amp. A lot. I've mentioned the only partial issue I have with how it handles my basses with extremely hot outputs. I'm going back and forth between it and my Shuttle 9.0 (carry both to gigs) which as I said is still as cool as it was before I bought the Veyron M. Same thing with the Kustom. I use it every week at church and it cruises through those services. The top spot is shared with these three amps.

And as satisfied as I am with all of my gear I'm still looking forward to checking out a Peavey Minimega, a Trickfish and whatever Jeff Genzler has up his sleeve that's coming out shortly. It's a great time to be a performing bassist.

I use a large laptop bag and carry two heads and a bunch of cabling.

As much as the company (Bugera) gets bashed by many, I have only good things to say about my interactions with them. They have been very prompt with their replies, extremely polite and I actually get the feeling that they are listening to me. I've contacted them a few times since I picked up the Veyron M in late May. Never has it taken multiple exchanges of emails to get the answers that I need. Granted, most of the things I've been asking aren't that complex but in comparison to other companies that I have or am currently doing business with, their service has been much better. Here's that email reply. Pat on the back to phillybass101 for thinking about that......

Dear xxxxxxx xxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting us. At this time, there are no plans to manufacture amp bags for the VEYRON series of bass amps. However, this is a wonderful suggestion that I can definitely pass along to the RnD team for future product development. Again, thank you for contacting us and thank you for the continued support of BUGERA products.

Kind regards,

Sam Daniel

Up until the Veyron, I swore off Behinger / Bugera products. Everything has felt cheap, up until the Veyron. What started as a potential backup amp has quickly turned into something that I'm seeing as a regular gigging amp. I'm still in a wait and see holding pattern as far as reliability goes, but I've not heard of any blowing up yet. Maybe they put in enough quality to make this amp a bargain rather than just a cheap amp.

I never had any experience with either company before buying the Veyron. Of course , I had heard of lots of negative experiences from many individuals. Honestly though, I've heard of a lot of people who had not much good to say about Peavey gear. My experience with the products from them that I've owned has been great! It certainly appears that Bugera has put in the work on these amps. I haven't opened up either of mine but the pictures of the inside of the cases that @disssa provided looked very clean.
