Bugera Veyron Now Available

So... I started this thread in May and finally bit the bullet and purchased one. Thanks to all the people that have talked about this amp and answered questions.

I just compared it head to head with the Warwick LWA 1000. At half the price of the Warwick, I think the Bugera is a great value, it has a few features that I wish the Warwick had...

I dig it!

The only thing I can tell you is that if whatever you decide on doesn't have a real high power rating, be careful! :D

Seriously, the Veyrons really push some heat. That's really my main concern with cabs when I use mine. Sound wise, they sound great with my cabs and would most likely sound better if I owned something like the BBC product, Bergantinos, etc., etc........

Thanks for the advice. I wouldn't by a cab that was rated less than 300 watts into 8 ohms.

I just plugged the Veyron M into my Bergantino HT322 which is rated at 850 watts RMS and laid down some fingerstyle funk with the Veyron turned all the way up (gain and volume). I was nice and clean, no distortion, no break up... the cab is 8 ohms.

I think I'm going to pair it with my Bergantino CN210 which is rated 400 watts RMS at 8 ohms... it's plenty loud for what I need.

Pound for pound, there were very little differences.

  • Pro Veyron
    • The DI can be switched from Line Level to Mic Level. This is beneficial is you are using a board that does not have good pre-amps
    • The compressor is better than the Warwick LWA 1000
    • Footswitch to turn on/off effects loop
  • Pro Warwick
    • The Warwick LWA 1000 has a smaller footprint
    • The combination of Low Mid/High Mid gives you better control over the midrange than the Veyron
    • 2 channels and a footswitch to switch between the 2 of them is nice
    • Less hiss (I could stand to put a *edit* low pass filter on the Veyron to reduce the hiss)
    • The fan is quieter
Other than that, I think the tone of both is very comparable. You can emulate the Low Boost on the Veyron with the EQ of the LWA 1000

I guarantee that if I played thru that head, turned all the way up, cabs would blow. It brought a fEarful to it's knees without being anywhere near all the way up. Not even halfway, on the gain OR master volume. The bass I was playing at the time isn't even all that hot.
