Buyer/Trader Beware on TB !

It was because he's made no mention of any upgrades in his ad as to why I feel he should trade me back.
No longer available - Fender deluxe alder body
clearly everyone involved needs to put some more effort into selling things. You still (almost belligerently at this point) haven't answered my question. You just do not entertain the possibility that it is not in the same condition it once was?

Did I offer him the $600 extra ? Not in this lifetime.

I came to the conclusion that because he wants to trade for the exact same model ( but a different body wood )that he's saving the upgrades if he finds the trade he's looking for.

I guess I'm just confused how this went down. You asked him to trade back, he tells you he's spent $600 in mods, and its not a fair trade anymore. Then what? You immediately assume he's lying and start a bash thread? Is there more to the exchange?

Even more confusing is that he was allegedly selling the "bass", but the link provided is for a body only with no picture.

No sense beating a dead horse. The group has spoken and the overwhelming majority feels I ran out of time for recourse. Fact is, I did a horrible job inspecting the bass before passing it on and I got upset when I saw he had the (whole) bass up for trade. The Carvin is still a beautiful bass and I'm taking it to my luthier to have him fix the issues. Thanks for everyone's advice, truly.

This is why I stopped doing trades on tb unless locally, I know what I'm selling and visually inspect it all carefully, yet i get traders who just pass along some bass that's hopped 4 owners in 6 months as with the last tb bass I bought. I remove pick guards to check what pickups are in it etc. if I sold a bass with a cover on I'd of removed it and checked it all over. I'd be pissed if i got a bass in the mail with a pickup cover on it that clearly took modding to add and wasn't shown in the photos.

Yeah, I still got screwed. This war I just copy and pasted from the email Seabassman sen

It's an Aguilar obp-3 preamp 18v. controls are volume push pull active passive, blend, mid push pull, trouble bass stack.
Here are some more specs and pics from original thread. TRADED - Carvin SB5001, Light and Lovely

Made me think that that is the ad he bought it from.
I 100% stand by everything I stated and am confident that Session is a straight up cat.

His interactions with you have been totally on the level. What he's expecting, or expected to happen next is the wacky part of this whole debacle.
Nothing wacky about it, he just plain had yet to realize what had happened until I brought it to his attention... and understandably due to what was going on being busy, not his main ax and all... Being a direct witness to the unfolding over a short period of time, again I completely believe him and feel he was wronged. I feel for the guy as his Jazz is gone, traded for that. Not to mention the 100 bucks Session was supposed to get and didn't from the guy as well.

OP, if you feel that you were wronged by the member you traded with, and said member is not willing to work with you on reconciling the problem, then leave negative feedback and move one. I see you said you already left negative feedback and it was removed. In that case, it looks like you will need to contact the moderators, privately, and discuss the situation.

I would advise you to not do trades with low feedback members, but since I got ripped off by a long term member with high feedback, I'll refrain.

I lost $200-$300 on the deal linked below and in the end nothing really happened to the crooked member.

TalkBass Trade Gone Bad

Good luck, OP, sorry it went sideways. I know it ain't no fun.
