For Sale - Bergantino NXT 212

I have a Epifani D.I.S.T 212 which is good sounding, light, and loud. A bit darker voiced than my Barefaced Big Twin II, which I consider to be a reference cabinet.

Yup, that’s the intent of the thread. As there is little information on YouTube and no cabs available to sample, the hope is that this community (TB) will actually produce some valuable insight into the peculiarities and differences of those cabs that are listed as opposed to, “just go get yourself some Aguilar or Mesa gear and you’ll thank me later”.

It's hard though. Unless someone has that head and those cabs, who's to say? And if someone does, it's there perspective. My woofiness may be the droids you are looking for. My tight sound may be your sterile

Fortunately, there are a lot of WD heads out there in the wild, hey, I got one paired with an Aguilar GS 112. I like it but I'd like to hear the WD with another cabinet, like a SW 115

My Mesa 1x15 cab is pretty solid. I’ve tried the 2x10 once and it was also cool.

Bergantino makes great stuff, too. Maybe @MDBass can chime in. He’s been using their stuff for a lot of shows and recordings

Ok. I have a Mesa D800+ head combined with a Genzler BA 15-3 SLT cab. Not vintage sounding at all. Not typical muddy 15. Deep tight fast 15! The bass array drivers give a smoothness to the midrange that is very articulate. Dispersion with this cab makes it very easy to be heard. This is the perfect cab for me and do not want ANYTHING else. IMHO, best cab out there with may choices within the BA series. Try the BA cabs if you can

I like the Eden cabs tone.

I too have an Eden 2x10 (my Metro combo) which honestly i havent pulled out in a while....need to do that.

My main cabs are a pair of the classic TL606 cabs with EV-15Ls....even 'agedhorse' has the EV-15L as one of his top classic speakers for bass and its designed for the TL606.

The Eden 2x10 vs the EV-15L are drastically different in tone and response but of course EQ adjustments go a long way to 'even' those differences somewhat....not much help here but it seems the Eden 2x10 is out of favor these days....... but i am considering a single high-power 15 cabinet to carry out of the house but i want it to sound more like the EV-15L which has excellent clarity and balance with a variety of amps (even guitar amps).

A single EV-15L just wont handle much power/bottom end beyond medium volumes despite their efficiency....but i digress!

I know nothing about those cabs.

Fortunately, Roger Baer answers emails, can speak to his cabinets specifically and is a super good dude. (FYI...IIRC, he is a sound designer who works on a syndicated TV show you would know.)

The thing for me is the "ML" mid-loaded 6" driver and not a tweeter. It just punches with no harsh upper frequency artifacts. The low end fundamental is present and not muddy or chocked.

If a tweeter is paramount in your Bass sound? Then the ML112 V2 is not for you.

My other cabinet is a Reeves 4x10" sealed that has no tweeter, either. I have no need for what a tweeter does - good or bad.

These are also something that you do not see often. ($1200 Direct USA 65lbs, the two guitarists I play for will not allow me to sell it!)

On the ABM...its new, UK made and replaced a lighter Thunderfunk 750/800 mod. I put an old GE 12AX7 (from a Baldwin organ tone generator) into the front end and the drive sounds amazing. Waiting to pop an old 60's Mullard in next.

I would ignore all of your choices and check out Bergantino. American made and the best there is.

I've been using a pair of first generation Bergantino 1-12 cabs for about 20 years now, since the first year of production. They replaced a pair of early Epifani 1-12s. On the first couple of gigs I used one (I only need both of them outdoors or for deafening volume gigs) I had soundmen and other musicians coming up and asking me what it was because they were amazed at the tone. Then just this past Friday, after playing a park gazebo show the drummer's bassist brother told me the same thing. What caught his ear was the sound was great all around the park and that he could hear every detail in the playing. BTW the PA was only carrying vocals, no bass.

I have never had anybody come up to me asking me anything about my amp until I started using Bergantinos.

Since you asked about reliability and customer support, after all that time I've had only one issue with them...the covering on the handles started to split, exposing the metal band inside. I contacted Bergantino, the phone was answered by Jim Bergantino himself and he mailed me two replacement handles for free (FWIW they no longer use that type of handle).

Whether or not the sound is for you, make sure you check them out if you can.

I like the Eden cabs tone.

Have to say I do too. I have a Mesa rig with WD800 & (2) 115 Subways. It is nice. I also have a Markbass LMII with (2) Eden D410XLT cabs. It is equally nice but different. If the 410s weren't over 2X as heavy as the 115s I would call them the winners. I'm not gigging so I don't have to move them around and they see as much use as my Mesa gear. I would say if you like the Eden tone seek out a pair of used D210XLts. They're out there and they're relatively inexpensive compared to other options.

The Genzler NU Classics 212 is a killer cab. I demoed the 210/112 stack and was super impressed. A pair of the NU-212s would be perfect for what you do!!!

Another cabinet to consider is the Avatar 2126. Avatar cabinets are built to order right here in the USA. Great sound and great value. Just google Avatar Speakers. I play through an Avatar 210 currently and love it great sounding cab and they don’t break the bank.

I haven't found a better sounding and just overall better cab than my Epifani UL410. 1000 watts, 56 pounds and able to blow the roof off with tons of low end. My 2 cents.

I haven't had a chance to hear the new Genzler Bass Array line of cabs, but from all reports they are certainly worth a look. Given the reputation of the products from the owner's former company, I imagine most folks would find these cabs quite impressive even if they're not exactly on point for someone's tone goals.
