Cabs in America

Fortunately, Roger Baer answers emails, can speak to his cabinets specifically and is a super good dude. (FYI...IIRC, he is a sound designer who works on a syndicated TV show you would know.)

The thing for me is the "ML" mid-loaded 6" driver and not a tweeter. It just punches with no harsh upper frequency artifacts. The low end fundamental is present and not muddy or chocked.

If a tweeter is paramount in your Bass sound? Then the ML112 V2 is not for you.

My other cabinet is a Reeves 4x10" sealed that has no tweeter, either. I have no need for what a tweeter does - good or bad.

These are also something that you do not see often. ($1200 Direct USA 65lbs, the two guitarists I play for will not allow me to sell it!)

On the ABM...its new, UK made and replaced a lighter Thunderfunk 750/800 mod. I put an old GE 12AX7 (from a Baldwin organ tone generator) into the front end and the drive sounds amazing. Waiting to pop an old 60's Mullard in next.

I am an outspoken lover of Ashdown!
Nice, I wanted a 4-10 also but could only find 2 x 1-15s.

See, it’s not that I dislike or don’t value Mesa cabs. The bottom line is, I have played through and heard Eden cabs and I have also heard Mesa cabs in similar context and my ear prefers the Eden thing. That being the case, DNA is the logical choice.
You clearly made the right choice for your tone goals, and with top tier cabs IMO. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that no matter what you ended up with!

I believe that people will likely be happier long term with a decision that is driven more by their own experiences and ears than by the popularity of a brand or some recent TB favorite discussion topic. Congratulations on a great rig!

Fanboys. These are all excellent cabs. Question is which appeals to you??

Comments of affirmation from the likes of you two says a lot for choices made. Thanks Gents!
A little feedback of experience…
I’ve committed myself to mostly playing my (EMG Geezers, TI Jazz Flats, Babicz bridge) MIM P-Bass through the Genzler Magellan 800 over the last few weeks and I gotta say the rig has such an articulate response that can get hi-fi clear, warm and fat or, full on gritty depending on my tastes.
This morning I decided to switch things up a bit after not playing through the WD800 for about two months. Pretty cool to play through cabs that clearly project the differences in amp voicings. The WD800 easily reproduces the natural raspiness of that bass. The GM800 has a little more versatility with the second channel available. Both amps are gems and will do everything for my needs. I’m planning on eventually getting another pair of cabs and they’ll likely be SW 112/115. Until then, I feel the DNA set will live up to my needs/expectations.
