Cali76 only smaller?

First impressions are positive. I only had about 20 minutes to play with it after I got it integrated into the pedal board. I started with m sterling's settings and then tweaked a little to tune it to my fender P. I definitely heard a tone enhancement... more so than my M87. I'll play with it more tomorrow.

Okay, I ordered the CB, but I'm wondering if I should go for the Lundahl version on the bigger one. I used to have an Empress, which is also FET based, and it seemed to break up and start distorting early. I didn't like that about it and ended up selling it. Is the CB going to be similar?

I'd like to have a comp for tone enhancement, but without the buzzy, fuzzy sound.

I used the CB tonight at a rehearsal tonight for the first time. It was a power trio so i play the bass in a ballsy sorta way. Anyway, both other players commented on how good my rig sounded. We all thought my finger style playing was punchier and sounded richer tonally. I used the same settings as in the photo I posted... except I turned the dry off.

Edit: I'm using a Mesa Buster 200, a nice clean sounding tube amp.

Dyin' here...ordered as soon as I woke up on the first day they were available for order...still no pedal, nor word. Much sadness. I guess I'll console myself with my...oh, wait, my OTHER Cali76. :)

It shipped!!! Should be here by Wednesday...I'm pumped! In celebration, I unstrung the Alembic, cleaned it, oiled the fretboard (oh my did it soak it up...been a hot summer!), and put a fresh set of DR Pure Blues on.

Then, since I was "in the zone" for cleaning, I took all the vocal mics apart and cleaned the grilles and pop filters. Yuck, nasty!

Hi Matt, are the settings still the same as what you shared previously?

Mine landed yesterday. It seems well built and rugged. I'm also impressed with the tonal variety that is possible with this comp. The previous comp pedals that I had were more utilitarian in nature and really didn't have a sound to them.

Anyways, I'm using this with a Tech 21 Bass Driver Deluxe. Between it and the Cali I think my sound way be too warm. In fact, its bordering on mud and all of my BDDI presets all sound about the same. The only way to get them to sound different again is to run the Cali with parallel settings.

I'm definitely keeping the Cali, but I'm thinking of getting a different preamp. Any suggestions?
