Cali76 only smaller?

Still loving the Compact Bass.... here's the setting I'm currently settled on.

I love this board but why is the compression before the envelope?

I guess mostly because of the old myth that compressor before octave improves tracking. Plus I haven't found mild "always-on setting" compression to adversely affect my use of an envelope filter, and then having it first buffers the signal early on.
But the good thing with this board is I can swap pedals within seconds (there's a whole B team on the shelf by the way: fuzz, distortion, chorus...) to experiment and/or fit the gig. I sure will try the Cali elsewhere in the chain.

For today it didn't matter much as I was headed to a symphonic metal rehearsal where I use compression to squash to death my flashy tapping bits and tend to leave the funky effets turned off.

Hey guys

I've seen several requests on "how does it compare to a FEA DE-CL"
I realize tapping is not everybody's thing but I don't have the time or skills to go through every interesting setting and application of those boxes. Here's what I got.

Quite different beasts, though it shows much more in person than on a recording.

And since you must be wondering "what do they sound like in stereo?", here's the 2nd take with the DE-CL to the left and the Cali76 CB to the right
