Wow, full of yourself? So you won something - which looks to be conducted with flawed methodology. Other than making a car's insides real loud you haven't done much to indicate that you understand audio design or acoustics in a larger sense.

Let's have some perspective here.

Interesting - the Termlab doesn't use a microphone to make the measurments.

There is some info about the device here, where it says that it's actually a strain gauge (that never needs to be calibrated.)

I've not heard of a strain gauge used in such a manner, but I suppose it's not out of the question. It looks like that unit plugs straight into a computer, so I'm assuming the Wheastone bridges is built into the box. I have to zero out my bridge before every test though... maybe this box has a really good one.

ya,,, that's that ultra high powered sonar device that every time they tested it out in the oceans it like killed all the whales in like a 100 mile radius

Let's just all settle down for a second. GCool's clearly a youngster, and Bill's clearly a crotchety old geezer, so there is a disconnect in how they speak to and read each other... ...But that doesn't actually mean either one of them is objectively right or wrong!

For example, Bill snapped out that the van readings were fake just because it was inconceivable to him that they could have used a 100,000W+ power amp array in the van. I admit that much wattage sounds far-fetched, but it's not impossible. And GCool snapped a bunch of reactions back at Bill just because he was challenged, and his "records" have him thinking he's clearly right. But let's see- Kicker provided the rig, and Kicker did the testing, and Kicker funded the event and provided the party favors (I'm guessing this stuff)... The more fantastical the numbers, the more Kicker rigs they will sell, as all the kids try to top each other's SPL number. They have absolutely no motivation to provide numbers that would suit the tastes of a grumpy old speaker cab designer, so they are happy to point a pressure gauge at a van under whatever environmental circumstances and take whatever number it gives, and award championships on that number.

Basically all I'm saying is, unless either party can demonstrate that the other side cannot be right, it's just a couple of hotheads yapping at the moment.
