Can someone tell me what I did wrong????

I just got off the phone with my tube amp tech...and before I say what he said I want you all to know he is a great tech!!! and the best in the boston area!
Other then checking the bias theres really nothing I can do....unless it shuts off! if its loud and clear and sounds fine keep using it! lol if it shuts off bring it down.

Your tech is a hack. You have burned components in your amp. A third grader could take a look at see a burned spot.

Find a new tech.

That isn't really true. The proper way to to test the transformer is to perform what is called a hi-pot (or high potential) test. This will test for arcing due to cracked windings. The equipment used to perform this test isn't typical of what a tech has on hand in their shop so I doubt that he could do it. A place that builds or rewinds transformers would have the equipment to properly test your transformer.

As I said, listen for a crackling sound when the amp is turned up and driven hard. If you don't hear anything you may be ok.

So I called my old man that used to do electronics for raytheon in the 60s....told him about it....he told me what the tube guy told me....if oyu had a problem it would be gone by now. it was the transformer

Good thing you aren't in a band & gigging... give it some time. If you play everyday & dont have a problem for a month or 2, chances are you're in the clear & will be okay for a gig right?

I had it like this all day yesterday too and this didnt happen just when I turned up the juice a tad today for a second! I unplugged it out of the cab now obviolusly! but both amps are still working! but I can still smell the smoke in the SVT.....should i take it and get it checked out? it seems to be working ok now.

It would have just blown up faster if both amps were on.

And it may not be the transformer. If it is, you should still get it checked out as there is some damage to your amp. Smoke just doesnt come from nowhere. Doing anything with your amp, outside of getting it fixed, is foolish.

The transformer is a bunch of windings of insulated wire. Something burned enough to cause visible smoke. If it's the insulation on the windings in the transformer, they may have burned, just not burned all the way through and shorted out yet.

At some point, they WILL finish burning through and short. This will cause very expensive repairs, and most likely happen at the most inopportune time, like in the middle of an important, high exposure gig when you're cash poor. It most likely won't happen at a throw-away jam session when your pockets are full.
