Can we please stop using "guitard"?

I think you misunderstood me or maybe you're just being non sequitur. My point: when someone uses the word "guitard" they are putting that person down.
Bullcrap! They are THE most easily offended thin-skinned people out there.
"White" people!?! As a beige European-American, I am deeply offended.
I always wondered, when a white dude gets goose bumps, do we then call him eggshell?
If you think so. I think at this present age of this adjective it's more of a trend around these parts and most people see it as guitarist.
What makes you think you have a right to go through life without being offended?

What I find offensive is someone trying to modify my behavior by telling me what I can or cannot say, enough of the pc crap. You are implying that it's used to specifically degrade those who are disabled. A little insensitive to them, sure, while we're at it lets ban the use of the word stupid as it's degrading to anyone with low intelligence. And I find your use of the term douche bag offensive to women as it refers to a necessary hygienic practice.
Agreed ! Let's get real. Cut out the PC crap, it's just about ruined the USA...now it's threatening this place where I try to seek refuge from everyone who's worried about offending everyone !!!!!

Not in all cases, but there's certainly a case to be made that some people go looking for reasons to be offended. I know a few people like that. The weird thing is that they're very spiteful about it and want to punish people for being offensive. Want people to lose their jobs and whatnot. I've heard it referred to as "vindictive protectiveness."
words are words. they're sounds we make with our mouths. thats about it.

1st Amendment allows people to be nice or be jerks and for each of us to respond with the speech we feel it warrants. This site allows some of that free speech and filters/blocks other free speech in an effort to keep the site (mostly) family friendly or at least PG-13. Some speech is outright prohibited and can get you banned. Until such a time as this site decides to filter the use of guitard, I'm guessing they find it no more offensive than other words whose connotation are soley negative (i.e., moron, idiot, etc.). Additionally, it makes this argument moot. I suppose a better approach than beseeching those who frequent TB would be to petition the moderators/site owners for a filter change.
If you can't explain then you don't have an argument.
