Can you identify this bass ?

  2. I've never seen an Ibanez bass that looked like that before either - if it is an Ibby; it's ancient.

    Maybe from way, way back when they were primarily competing with Teisco?

    Doesn't look like any Ibanez I've seen. Looks like one of the legion of low quality Japanese basses that flooded out of Japan in the 1960's. I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole.
  5. The pickguard is not original, it has been modded. Its a Teisco E-52.

    If the price would be 50$ with shipping, and you like the classic look, I'd take it

    Think again. This may be one of the very first models of Ibanez basses - the 1901 & 1902 - apparently made in 1962.

    Nope. Someone in the Ibanez forum dug up this catalog page and posted it some time later.
