Can you identify this bass ?

Hi folks,
I was looking on my local used gear website and I saw this bass.
The seller says that it's an ibanez but i've never seen one like that and it tickled my curiosity. I would like to know what model and maybe year it is and if it (maybe) has any value ?

I've never seen an Ibanez bass that looked like that before either - if it is an Ibby; it's ancient.

Doesn't look like any Ibanez I've seen. Looks like one of the legion of low quality Japanese basses that flooded out of Japan in the 1960's. I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole.

The pickguard is not original, it has been modded. Its a Teisco E-52.

If the price would be 50$ with shipping, and you like the classic look, I'd take it

Think again. This may be one of the very first models of Ibanez basses - the 1901 & 1902 - apparently made in 1962.

Nope. Someone in the Ibanez forum dug up this catalog page and posted it some time later.
