Canadian Basses...

Judging by his other work, I'm not surprised. Does he have any basses at his shop that customers can try out?
As he does custom work there is never a huge inventory to look at - usually you can see other people's builds in various stages of development. If you are lucky he will have a finished bass available that does already have a buyer - sadly he builds more guitars than basses at the moment. So it's hit or miss if he will have something to try out. Great guy to talk too and very knowledgeable about his craft - he has even made a couple tube amps that just scream.
I have seen a few local players who are using his stuff but I have not had the chance to try those out yet.

Yeah I saw the tube amps on the website; the guy seems like a multi-talented mofo

View attachment 2769008 View attachment 2769011 Here is my new bass from Dave Reimer.
Looks really nice. How does Reimer market his basses? I would love to get one with a flamed maple top and birds eye maple board, head and no pick guard. Similar to this pic.

Does Dave Reimer perform bass maintenance as well? I have a fretless bass with very high action, which I would like to lower. The action was low when I first received it; I've just noticed the high action all of a sudden.

I'm a little nervous messing around with the truss rod and/or bridge on my own.
Yes! I've had Dave work on several of my vintage basses over the years, and in the last few years I've also seen him resurrect several 50's and 60's Fenders that otherwise wouldn't have been played anymore.
In fact if I remember correctly, Dave was a student of the great Paul Iverson, so yes he can deliver repair miracles. In addition to solid body guitars and basses of all varieties, Dave also makes acoustic guitars and mandolins as well. Very capable luthier and builder. He's hear downtown which is convenient too. Tell him Tyson sent you:)
