Cannabis

I've never heard that. Can you provide a link to some reading material on that subject?

I'm not a chemist or a doctor....but I know what works for me....so my explanation may seem screwy.

There is more in cannabis than THC that is beneficial for your medical ailments. The Vape will generally burn off only the THC which vaporizes at a lower temp than the CBN's. I have discussed this with other medical users....and they seem to have the same conclusions.

Honestly, I'm guessing this prop 19 situation actually matters a lot MORE to most of us in non initiative states than it does to you guys out in cali. It really doesn't make much difference to you guys either way, since most of you smoke it with little to no worry about law enforcement. Where I live if I were to get caught with even some seeds or a burnt out roach I could get in some serious trouble and lose out on a lot of money and time. Currently a HUGE part of the population here still takes that risk because it's so much cheaper and less damaging than the other drugs on the market (including alcohol), and doesn't have any physically addictive properties so people figure even if they do get caught, they probably end up "ahead" in the long run. Still though, until we have some places in the U.S. that are making money and showing positive results from legalization, my own state has little hope for even mild steps towards decriminalization.

So yeah, it does matter to us, and the "I gots mine" crowd frustrate me to no end. It's a very stereotypical "stoner" attitude to say "well brah, I gots my weed, so why does it matter if we could make things a little easier and better for everyone else by simply going out to the polls and checking a box?"

While I agree with you to a large extent with most of your points, I have to say, as someone involved with growers from upstate California, that Prop 19 passing is closely akin to asking for a price to be put on my head. Small grow operations here and there may fall by the wayside of Federal concern, but large grow operations currently supplying medical dispensaries will be under intense scrutiny and can easily be shut down. Remember, our medicinal marijuana laws also contradict Federal law and even as things are today anyone growing can be shut down and prosecuted at the drop of a hat. Its not that 'yeah brah, I gots mine' attitude at all. Its the CYA actions we need to be taking. Sure, it sounds like legalizing herb for recreational use in Ca might be a good idea, but youre only thinking of your own consequences, as youve got nothing to lose from the Feds cracking down on us over here, only something to gain. I, however, have thousands of dollars in investments, time, money, and a legal record to face should Prop 19 pass and the Feds say 'Nope, not gonna happen' which they likely will, as they have proposed. Im sorry, but Im not going to be your martyr.

Prop 19, while not perfect is absolutely a step in the right direction. California has long been a trendsetter state that the rest of the nation follows. Even if it's a show vote only (feds overrule it), it's still showing the feds that a majority of voters in the largest state in the union support legalization. That's a significant constituent and can only help the national level and increase momentum by showing the viability of the issue on a national scale.

That's all assuming that it doesn't actually do any of the things it's supposed to.

Unfortunately that 'show vote' could lead to jailtime and heavy fines for thousands of people. Whether we support legalization or not isnt the matter, as its readily apparent that we do. However, its the ones who don't who are currently in control. As I said, I am not willing to risk life and limb so that the nation can go about doing something that theyre already doing, only to do it 'legally'. Before an attempt is made at legalization the rest of the country needs to get behind the step that California has already taken for the country and legalize medicinal pot first. We need more support from other states before we try and make recreational use legal. Its too easy to kill the lone fish in the barrel.

I can appreciate that what works for you, works for you, but your statement contradicts what doctors have recommended to me when writing my recommendation. Having said that, I prefer smoking...I've never had consistent results with edibles.

Well, with edibles a reaction occurs in your liver creating some chemical called Trimethylsomethingorother which creates a different effect than just smoking.

The difference between smoking and vaporizing has to do with different canabanoids in the "buds" reacting differently to be steamed than to being burned.

That's all I got on that... where's my bat?

Depends on the specific herb you're vaping and the specific temperature you're vaping at. Most good vapes can be adjusted temperature-wise, and you should be able to get the cannabinoids you need without burning them. Switching to a strain more focused in the specific cannabinoids you need could help, too. (There are guides out there to help you figure out exactly what to go with.)

Most doctors...at least where I live....don't have the slightest clue about the world of marijuana as a medicine. And they don't care to either.

Yes I am...but not to the extent that smoking and vaping will provide. Eating medables made from cannabutter gives me pain relief, and a much more preferable(functionable) high than the high I get from smoking or vaping.

+1 I agree with this, there is quite a difference imo. I intend to give up smoking after Xmas, I'll be baking a bit more ; )
