Carnival time: Guess my weight

JRA: These should give you a good look at the scale. It's a CE kitchen scale. Twenty bucks at Home Depot, I think it goes up to 55 lbs.

Now, another free chili dog for anybody who'll volunteer to put this darn thing back together.

Since it's a carnival, I was certain the answer would've been converted to ounces of meth...

I had a summer job/intern jig working on the Washington DC Metro construction in the 70s (oh the stories) to keep it short, my Partner/Trainer turns to me on day when we were on one of the sites and says: “never trust a Carny who doesn’t have a mouthful of broken yellow teeth”

That line has stuck with me for 47 years...

And I was going to guess 5KG... and that’s 11.0 lbs

The UPS guy just delivered my new digital postal scale. In a few minutes, this ol' gal is going for an accurate weigh-in.

Anybody want to guess her weight? '75 Fender Jazz, swamp ash body, solid rosewood Schecter neck, also from '75.

Closest guess wins a free chili dog from Big Daddy's food truck across from the Tilt-A-Whirl. Will post actual weight later this afternoon.

The OP asked guess the "Weight" not the "Mass" => you should've going to guess 50N ....

Okay, here ya go. Micguy had it pretty much nailed but he second guessed himself with the rosewood neck. So looks like the free chili dog goes to (ding, ding, ding) Mvilmany.

With strings, it's just a hair over 11 lbs. Without strings, 10.13. That weight difference surprised me.

I think your scale is reading pounds and ounces. If you set it to pounds, with the decimal stuff being hundredths of pounds, I think you'll find your 10 pounds, 13 ounces and change is about 10.8 pounds; the strings therefore weigh about a fifth to a quarter of a pound. That makes sense to me.
