Carnival time: Guess my weight

Okay, here ya go. Micguy had it pretty much nailed but he second guessed himself with the rosewood neck. So looks like the free chili dog goes to (ding, ding, ding) Mvilmany.

With strings, it's just a hair over 11 lbs. Without strings, 10.13. That weight difference surprised me.

I actually thought it was going to be heavier, it's definitely a back breaker on a 4-hour gig. Maybe it's because so much of the weight is out there on the neck. I could probably shave off over half a pound with ultralite tuners, etc. But that would probably have more negative impact on my wallet than positive impact on my back/shoulder. And the neck is so sweet that replacing it isn't a consideration.

Anyway, thanks for playing along. I'm going to weigh neck, body and tuners separately to satisfy my curiosity.

9.5 lbs

I was definitely going to guess in the 10.5 + pounds range with strings. That's a great bass from a great year and I love the weight. I'd be so pumped with adrenaline it wouldn't phase my 62-year-old back/shoulder over the course of a four-hour show. That's why God made Ibuprofen.

My next chili dog will be a salute to this thread. Cool idea, should have let it ride a bit longer.
