On the fretless SB's, how are the grooves in the nut? Are they cut lower than a fretted so that the strings are closer to the fb?

I have a bass by another manufacturer and the grooves don't seem to be lower as they should be but instead at the same height as a bass with medium jumbo frets.

I do believe it is lowered or something because when I put the fretless neck on my B50 (same neck), it was set up perfect.

I almost sold this....

Thank gawd he passed!

reviving the headstock topic from a few days ago, I made a very crude photo of what my next Carvin will (hopefully) look like..please forgive the fact that the headstock (reversed Icon) is not the same color as the body..I couldnt find a match.

Looks good. I don't see headstock options on the site. Have you called Carvin?

If you call and ask nicely, they'd do it. They already have the patterns in their CNC computer, and they dont want to lose a sale.

Responding to another post, I never got a confirmation email when I ordered my Icon over the phone. I had to call back a few days later for them to email an invoice.

Waiting is the hardest part! I ordered my SB5000 Feb 10th. I've been occupying myself by reading through all the SB4000/5000 roll calls. Thank God for my LowEnd Jazz 5 or I'd go crazy! I have an old 90's Carvin LB 6 fretless that's a great bass too. Completion date for the SB is April 16th. Something to look forward to after March Madness.
