I guess this tangentially related as he played my Carvin SB5000 and loved everything about it, including the set up, just as it came to me. She still has the same strings seven months later, and plays like a dream. And Adam Small is an awesome dude. This thread is all about spreadin Carvin SB5000 love, and I say a story where an acknowledged figure such as he plays your Carvin with glowing remarks, well it feels like love to me.
Adam Small is going to be launching an online teaching service, called MasterClass, very soon. He started a Kickstarter.com project to fund it. I donated 100 dollars for, "an hour of teaching on one subject", and instead he and I hung out for almost three hours, talking about playing bass, recording, his life, Logic, tips tricks, etc. He was just this regular dude totally chill, in his house not pretentious, or anything, completely open to teaching or talking about whatever. It was needless to say a fantastic experience! While I was there he also showed me five or six of the I don't know how many instructional videos, he has of world famous, highly accomplished musicians, studio musicians, producers, mixers, etc, he has ready for when the site goes live.
I just wanted to tell TB of this incredible afternoon, and it is my hope all of you get to experience something like this just once. If you do I hope you remember to ask at least one intelligent question, as thinking about it now, I'm not sure I asked more than one. Peace.
