Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 8!

I guess what I call warm and burpy is another way of saying aggressive ? Great sound for sure. I shyed away from buying a SB because of the stock headstock until I saw one with a reverse Icon headstock. That did it for me. I bought it immediately, right here on TB. My SB5001 and my Roadworn PJ are my two keepers after having about 10 different basses these last couple years.

I am definitely ordering mine with an Icon headstock.

Does anyone know why Carvin wants $158 for a SB4/5000 case? When you buy the bass, the case is only $79 extra. I'm stumped. If I get a chance I'm going to call them tomorrow in hopes that they will do the $79.

I would posit that the case is considered an "option"/"extra" when building a guitar/bass (even though it is required) and therefore is subject to the discounts/specials they have running for building basses/guitars. Such as 50% off extra options, etc.

Those discounts do not apply to singular purchases of cases.

Here is my new SB 5001. Just bought it off a buddy. I'll get better pictures later.
