Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call!

I've been trying to get a Victor Bailey style bass . I think I'll go in for these specs from carvin for th SB 5000 .

5 Piece Maple Neck or 1 Piece ( Not sure whats the difference ? ANy help ?? )

Standard Single coil pickups and a active circuit with stacked Midrange controls .

Well Sunday gig went well and the Sb5000 cut thu the mix well. I decided to go with the BX500 and BRX210 cab with PA support. I could hear every note nice and clear. My main bass is a Alembic Excel 5 that I love because of the neck on it. The Sb5000 is doing to be my main gigging bass now.
I like my action low but on the 5000 I can't get it as low as I would like with out frets noise. I played in passive mode all night with an 70% bridge. I'll post a sound clip later this week.

Regarding the neck: a laminate or multi-piece neck is generally stabler and less prone to weather related shifts than a one piece neck. There were a lot more complaints about Carvin necks 6 or so years ago than you'll find these days. Their neck making has improved. Unless you're very concerned about wild humidity shifts (which you might be in Mumbai) a one-piece neck is fine. Alternatively, you could get a clear gloss or vintage gloss coat. My experience has been that glossed necks are a bit more stable than oiled necks, but then again, my Music Man's oiled neck is as solid as a rock...
There is probably a fair amount of subjectivity in this assessment.
On a related note, I wish they would offer a two-piece or three-piece maple/maple neck option.

I was actually gona for a Status graphite neck because of the weather but then I played a friends Ibanez . He had a 5 piece neck and it was really stable . I didnt like the Ibanez though .
