Yep, I was thinking of one of those triangular blueprint boxes also. Take the tuners off and pack those in your suitcase.I shipped a Fender Jazz Bass neck in an architectural project tube (I do not know what they are called exactly) once. You can even bring that on board without much hassle by the ground or cabin crew. Also FedEx used to have long boxes with a triangular cross section. They would be fine as well.
A DIY option would be a length of PVC pipe. Cut it to size, then duct tape an end cap on one end. Wrap the neck in a soft cloth, the enough bubble wrap so it fits tightly in the pipe. Duct tape another end cap on the other end and you are good to go.
I skimmed the posts and it sounds like you're planning to carry a rifle case onboard a plane and you put a dismembered body in your luggage?
I hope I read that wrong.
