Casey Anthony Mask

How would any of you people like to be classified as GUILTY for the rest of your life even though a court of law says that you are NOT GUILTY?

tricky one.
I was reading something from one of the jurors where she stated that it was not so much that they thought she was not guilty, but rather that they didn't have enough to prove her guilt. Subtle difference but in the eyes of the law, yeah you're right.

Well that really has little to do with the question the OP raised.

Personally, I don't care. I've learned to expect these sorts of things from living in our society, as messed up as that sounds.

well, honestly I think that she has more than a little notoriety going on. A mask like this sort of screams "GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY" by default.

Personally, I do think she's guilty as hell but that's not what the law says. Regardless, the mask is in real bad taste no matter how you look at it...

It's definitely bad taste, but so is hanging a rubber scrotum off the back of your vehicle. As I said, this sort of thing just doesn't surprise me anymore. People will do anything for a cheap laugh.

Although the Constitution of the United States does not cite it explicitly, presumption of innocence is widely held to follow from the 5th, 6th, and 14th amendments. See also Coffin v. United States and In re Winship.

This doesn't surprise me. As a matter of fact nothing surprises me anymore. I'm completely surprise-proof. Disgusted, yes, ashamed, horrified, shocked, saddened, yes indeed. But not surprised.

Actually, upon further reflection, there is one thing that surprises me. That anybody, with the way society is going these days, is actually surprised by all the goings on nowadays.

Yeah, I'm not disputing that. Just rehashing what I heard one of the jurors mention.

When they mail out jury duty notices, they should also have a refresher on how the law works, then hold a short class after jury selection is complete.

Another thing that needs to be changed is to have a closed court for all jury trials. No reporters, cameras, phones, computers, etc. Let the facts - not opinions - determine the outcome of someone's life.

And that in itself is very sad.

I still hold out hope for us. I still open doors for older people, women and treat people with respect. Things still do surprise me as I have still have some values and morals left in me.

You really think she cares?

Do you have evidence that she is indeed guilty? Because if you or any one who says that she's guilty should be presenting that evidence to the proper authorities.

I do think that the proper authorities would be seriously interested in hearing what evidence is now available.

And I'm sure Casey Anthony is trembling in her stilettos.

Well you can educate folks until they're all quasi-experts on something but you'll never remove the "human being" from the equation. That's all I'm saying.
The law says she's not guilty thus we should respect that. Many people have absolutely decided that she is guilty and I don't think there's any changing that.

oh stop JAUQO. I'm just stating my opinion is all. Not looking for a drawn-out, to the death battle of points and counter-points. I did in fact say that the law has proclaimed her "not guilty" we should respect that, and this mask is in bad taste. I personally think she's guilty but I'm just a little peon in a sea of peons and in the grand scheme of things, my opinion really means nada.

The Casey Anthony case was ridiculous and all, but man I wish I was old enough to follow the OJ case in the mid nineties. I was reading up on his case in my criminal investigation course, and MAN it's ridiculous how people can get off despite mountains of evidence against them. BLOOD EVERYWHERE!

But then again, It was terrible police work that got OJ off the hook. Try to find a script of the interrogation if you're interested. OJ feeds the detectives bullsh*t the whole time, and it seems like they were too starstruck to straighten things out!
